  1. Weeks ago, I moved my tub fish, shrimp, and wood indoors. I have been planning to move the tubs inside to the basement, with just substrate, snails, floating plants, and rocks. I'm so busy that I haven't gotten to it yet, so more and more maple leaves have dropped in. I want to pull them out, but half of them have snails on them, so I can't do it. I will have to report back on this topic. The tubs will go on some back basement racks, with some spare Fluval Plant Nanos I have, and who knows what I will throw in for the winter, but something boring, maybe even just more plants.
  2. Thanks for getting this started @Daniel. Thanks everyone for embracing this theme. Cheers.
  3. Candi and Cory explained on stream that this is a glitch email from recent orders, nothing to be concerned about.
  4. I checked in today, and everything looks great. Are these White Cloud eggs I am seeing on the wood? I asked my dad to take some more photos:
  5. Make peace with the mulm.
  6. What power heads are you running? I would like to do this for a few situations where I want horizontal flow.
  7. Crossing the Connecticut River, looking south; New Hampshire on the left, and Vermont on the right Back to Vermont
  8. I have the smallest Eheim Classic 150 on a 16 gallon, and I like it for the spray bar, and being super-basic. However, I have been slowly converting to using sponge filters in more and more tanks. I thought we had left air stone tech behind in the 1990s, but with foam instead of carbon, and weighted drop-in filters instead of under gravel, I'm now a believer. I still like power to move water horizontally, like with my MF10s in my pico shrimp tanks, but it is still just foam tech moving water inside the tank. Perhaps try two or three Co-Op Sponge Filters. With proper check valves, you are keeping the water in the tank. If you do run a canister, I always recommend putting it in a bucket or tote, because there will be water, even if it is just on maintenance day.
  9. Some of us do use the Apex for freshwater, and there are some other options coming to the market. We have a Neptune Apex Aquarium Control thread right here in the forum.
  10. Dwarf Sagittaria and various Cryptocoryne varieties would be good, along with some Anubias, for starters. I love the 2.5 gallon size tanks, and have three of them, if you want to see examples in my aquarium journal here on the forum. Cheers

  12. Cheeeto Swanson : Just give me all the boxes you have. Wait, wait. I'm worried what you just heard was, "Give me a lot of boxes." What I said was, "Give me all the boxes you have." Do you understand?
  13. Nice @MickS77! I run most of mine with the riser inverted for more height, but this takes it to the next level. I have a buddy working on a 3D-printed mounting bracket to fit rimmed tanks so I don't have to do weird stuff like this:
  14. More plants is the answer to so many questions! Even with no question, I usually think, more plants!
  15. Let’s see if we can find some Oscar breeders to help you out here!
  16. Some Google search results suggest 20 gallons for one and 40-50 for a pair. Hopefully someone else on the forum can offer more, but I didn’t want to see your question go unanswered. Cheers
  17. There are definitely Cichlids keepers here who should be able to help.
