About Me

  1. I picked up a pair of Bolivian Rams today and I've come across a few posts saying that they really enjoy flipping over leaves to forage. I'd like to give them the enrichment if possible but I'm not wanting to tint my water (which I believe happens with the Indian Almond leaves people use). Any recommendations for something I can use to fulfill this?
  2. On my way home I picked up some hazelnut leaves from my garden and I was wondering if I can use them like for example indian almond leaves for my Shrimp tank? The leaves fell of the bush naturally. We had some frost the last couple days tho, idk if this matters... Do I have to treat the leaves in some way like boiling and re-dry them if I can even use them? Cheers Flavio
  3. Like the title says are Bay leaves ok for shrimps? Also got a couple other questions like do i only re-feed my shrimps after they are done with the leaves? Do i need to change it? Or will they eat it all/degrade over time?
  4. In our tank we have 2 Sunset Honey Gourami's, 2 Green Neon Tertra's, a shrimp and a snail. Also in our 8.5 gallon tank we have a few different plants and a piece of driftwood. We also change the water in the tank (~30% change) each week. Our tank water test is showing that the water is slightly hard, wondering if catappa leaves would help with the hardness and be gentle on our fish. Thanks!
  5. This is the only place I would ask this, What leaf litter have you used and what was your experience? We live in northern michigan and have a "burning bush", ive dried some of the red leaves and dropped them in today.
