I know how this would work out for me. I would buy a new sponge filter, and then immediately find the missing uplift tube.

That notebook reminds me of science class as a kid. Starting in maybe 4th grade, we had to keep notebooks from our studying, and lab work, and they were probably 50% of the grade. If you really wanted to do well, you would rewrite your entire notebook before turning it in, correcting every mistake, and improving the formatting. It was a massive effort, but very effective, and it doubled your chances of memorizing what you needed for tests.

Lovely start! Enjoy watching those plants grow out.

I am happy with my sponge filters, but I want to try a hang-on-back filter for fun. I am very picky about design, and any visible aquarium technology has to be symmetrical or at least left/right balanced, (like with a canister, uptake on one side, centered spray bar, heater on the other side). Besides the massive Marineland units, this seems to be the only symmetrical HOB filter. Has anyone used one of these? Thanks!

Angelfish Breeding with Baby Angelfish Stealing Eggs at End
Streetwise replied to Daniel's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
Beautiful video and music! That female is so methodical at laying those lines of eggs. Are those more eggs in the background when you zoom out?- 10 replies

You could unplug the UPSs from the wall if you wanted to continue testing.

If there is room in there, maybe the Nano would fit without a bracket. The light unit itself is 5 1/8" x 5 1/8" x 7/8". With felt pads, I have used them directly on glass.

I have no guppy advice. I think you will have more enjoyment with one Tetra species per tank.

Neocaridina Shrimp do not need heaters, but are versatile: Neocaridina davidi - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG I wouldn't want to keep them at the hot end of their range.

You could remove the hood, and run a Fluval Plant Nano.

Can we resurrect this idea? I think it would be fun with a new forum member, or a new CARE package recipient.

Very cool, nice save. In my marine days, I ended up accidentally breeding brine shrimp in my canister filters. I don't think I fully appreciated it at the time. I do now!

What are your pet peeves when it comes to other hobbyists?
Streetwise replied to ange's topic in General Discussion
I have a livestream pet peeve: displaying live chat in the video feed. This can capture troll posts, and typos that I could correct otherwise in my own posts. It is also redundant for the streamer and the viewer. -

Recommendations for Floating plants!
Streetwise replied to AtomCatMatt's topic in Plants, Algae, and Fertilizers
I like Salvinia, and I tolerate Duckweed in certain tanks. I just ordered some Moneywort, which I plan to try floating like in this video: -
White Clouds are one of my favorite fish of all time. They are so hardy that I would consider them the all-wheel drive Subarus of the fish world. I keep them with neo shrimp and still get shrimp production. I don’t know if they eat a few of the shrimp fry or not.

We have two genes that relate to asparagus: one controls whether eating asparagus changes the smell of your liquid waste, and the other controls whether you can smell it! It would make for an interesting dinner party experiment.

Welcome @MoRia. I'm so happy to finally see another Vermonter on here! I live right near exit 10. I would encourage you to start a tank journal and show off some more photos and stories of your tanks. Cheers

Pick 2-3 Cryptocoryne varieties, perhaps.
