  1. Here is my pH vs Temp in my un-heated 7.5, with little micro peaks because of my three daily photoperiods. I’m curious if your Temp also follows the pH.
  2. @josh world, in the video I posted, I swap out the default media for AquaClear 30 sponges. It might fit other sizes, but that is what I had on-hand. I don't need more filtration, but this unit is aesthetically pleasing, and I enjoy the waterfall effect. I ordered another one, and I might see if it fits on a tub. I can't say that it is better or worse than other HOB filters, but it is quiet, symmetrical, and low-profile, so I like it. At $39, it is probably more expensive than other options.
  3. Cheers from Vermont! Glad to see more New Englanders here. If you are new to forums, I would advise you that they are less ephemeral than other social spaces on the internet. Besides the interaction with hobby peers, there is a large knowledge-base that grows in a healthy forum. Use the search function for questions that you think have been asked before, and you will find threads full of investigation, and answers. I would encourage you to make one or more tank journals, and share photos, stories, and videos of your aquarium journey. Kindness, curiosity, and community go a long way. If you make a typo, you can edit your post.
  4. I found my spare Nano for my utility bucket. The airline fits thru the mount, in front of the power cable. I will use this with the light the next time that I get plants that will not immediately get planted.
  5. Photosynthesis is what I would say on the daily level, but I’m not sure about the big change. Is it a phase of cycling, or an effect of the RO?
  6. This is the video. I've been thinking about this with my 16 bow, where everything mostly stays in the plants.
  7. Balin explaining Large vs Medium Sponge Filters to Dwalin:
  8. Thank you! That was taken on my parents' property in Chittenden County, Vermont, a bit south of Burlington.
  9. The Small Co-Op Sponge Filter is shorter, and wider than the Nano Sponge Filter. I use the Small ones in my 2.5 gallon tanks, the Nano units in my 3.5 - 7.5 gallon tanks, two Nanos in 15 - 20 gallon tanks, and Medium in tubs.
  10. I finally used the Ziss breeder box to hold some Neocaridina, and of course one of the Amanos had to check it out!
  11. Do you have any more photos of your Scarlet Badis? One of my LFS can get them, and I have been thinking about them a lot. Thanks!
  12. Awesome @StaceyTNBCkicker! Hopefully other folks will follow your lead and post both the graph and the schedule grid.
  13. I made a visit today. I planted the new plants, added a sponge filter to the bucket of leaves and snails, and cleared out the floaters. Now I’m going to see if one of my LFS is interested in Salvinia and Water Lettuce.
  14. (I just noticed the emoticon in this scene.)
  15. I love those fish. Yours look beautiful! Now I'm going to have to reserve the half-dozen CPDs I saw today, and give them their own tank, and move my others.
  16. I ran White Clouds and Neocaridina here in Vermont, just to get the longest season possible. You are going to have so many options—I see more tubs in your future. Paging @H.C. Aqua
  17. I visited a local box and LFS, just keeping an eye on the inventory. I'm going back for CPDs tomorrow. I haven't had a chance to get my Co-Op plants to the tubs yet, so I got them out of their baskets, and put them in a fresh bucket with a small Co-Op sponge filter. I added a mount for my spare Fluval Nano. I am going to see if I can fit both the Nano power cable, and airline tubing thru the Nano mount. I also topped-off water in my tanks. Someone was thirsty.
  18. Outdoor tubs are so much fun! What are you going stock in there?
  19. I setup a tank for my folks, where all they have to do is feed, top-off water, and optionally remove Salvinia and throw it in the basement tubs. Setup: 20H, organic soil, Mopani wood, tons of plants, a pair of Nano Sponge Filters, Fluval Plant 3.0 24", White Clouds, Neocaridina Shrimp, bladder snails.
