  1. 55g and 29g are about the same height so the settings should be fine. It is more about intensity at the depth of the aquarium. I'm not sure what plants you have, but mine are all low to medium requirement types.
  2. This is my quarantine tank. It is a 20 long. The breeder box is there cause it would not hang properly on my big aquarium. The fry was not planned for. I just found babies and wanted to try and raise them. Lol.
  3. I'll have to run out tomorrow and get fungal med. I have live plants that are sensitive to the salt.
  4. Sorry. I do not mean drive way salt. It is food grade coarse non idonized salt. The kind you use for like ice cream making. Thank you.
  5. I don't have a nearby store with fish meds. I do have API general cure. I also have rock salt, but no aquarium salt.
  6. I bought 4 oto cats a little over 2 weeks ago. Have been looking for them for months, lol. I noticed the largest one has this grey patch on his head. I had not noticed before. All are eating well, especially this one. It is the plumpist of all of them. All are active. They currently have no tank mates except for 6 dwarf neon rainbow fry in a breeder box.
  7. I have rinsed them under tap water, crush their shells, and my rainbow fish gobble them up.
  8. Oh. I was thinking of feeding them to my tank of rainbowfish, tetras. I have not yet added fish to the new tank. Just thought my omnivores might like a tasty treat, but they would need them shelled, lol.
  9. Received some new plants and they had some hitchhikers, bladder snails. These are in my new, still cycling tank. I have been removing and squishing. But thought, would these be ok as a tasty treat for my fish in my established tank? Can they get parasites from eating these? I would squish them first, so not live.
  10. I'm glad I seen this. I just bought one as well and would have not read the instructions 🙃. Now I most definitely will!
  11. I just started into planted aquariums as well and have found this forum after hearing Cory mention it on a video. So glad to have this community for the support and expertise!
  12. Thank you. I'm excited as well. I wanna know what those big eyeballs belong to!
