  1. With my Nanos, I currently max out at about 35% for peaks, with the mount in the high configuration, about six inches above the water. So let's say 25-50% depending the height of the light . You can basically scale any program you see here up or down. For my manual settings for photos, I go higher. Try something, test it for a while, maybe two weeks, and see how your plants do vs algae. I hope that helps.
  2. Sweet. I am near exit 10, and @MoRia is in the town with five corners. To stay on topic, when things get more normal, I would love to check out aquarium stores in Québec.
  3. Do you have any other interesting sizes available, like the 33 long? Cheers from Vermont!
  4. I think White Clouds would be a resilient fish choice for this this resilient kiddo.
  5. The plants from my order barely fit in a bucket: It already looks like one of my tanks!
  6. In Chapter XI, Section D, Diana Walstad recommends not using stones or pebbles in your cap, saying they are unfriendly to plant roots and can risk trapping uneaten food that could go anaerobic. She also recommends that the sand layer be no more than 0.50-0.75 inches to prevent suffocating the soil. For the gravel layer, she recommends no more than 1.00 inches of gravel that is 2-4 mm wide.
  7. You could try Pro mode, and use the additional set points to customize your sunrise and sunset behavior.
  8. I finally got around to cleaning the glass on my 16-gallon bowfront aquarium. It gets tons of window and room light.
  9. I only had a mess in my first organic soil tank, because I was still figuring things out. My other seven organic soil tanks, and three tubs were all smooth sailing.
  10. Thanks for sharing your schedules, Cory. It looks like the light on that 125 has a firmware update available.
  11. With the time change, don't forget to go into the app and 'touch' each of your Fluval lights.
  12. @Tristen, if you are interested in running an organic-soil tank, you need to use organic soil. I would really recommend reading her book: Diana Walstad's Books and Articles – FISH, AQUATIC PLANTS and FAMILY DIANAWALSTAD.COM Purchasing information for Diana Walstad's books ‘Ecology of the Planted Aquarium’(3rd Edition) and ‘Family History of a Doctor's Daughter’ (2017). Free articles on planted tanks, fish diseases, guppy breeding, etc. I normally use 1.5" organic soil, capped with 0.5" sand, and 1.0" small gravel. Some of my tanks have slightly different cap layers. I like the gravel to allow the mulm to absorb, and the sand to keep the soil down. I plant as many plants as possible, do not gravel vac, and try to avoid moving plants. You will have to practice patience, and let nature work.
  13. Unless something is wrong, I try to just top-off water in my pico and nano tanks.
  14. Those are very large water changes for a very small tank. You may benefit from slowing everything down.
  15. @Aubrey, can you share a wide-angle photo of the whole ecosystem for this plant?
  16. I have noticed that none of my local stores carry Python products anymore, local or chain.
  17. I've thought about doing a tongue-in-check tutorial video on how to properly shake your hands and lower arms when retracting them out of Duckweed water. Aquarium jazz hands, if you will.
