  1. Half an inch is ok, but I’d leave it a bit longer if you’re worried.
  2. A month or two, unless I really need it. It’s sort of like contemplating another tank…
  3. From what I can find on the web, it looks pretty wild to me. Try asking someone at the ALA (American Livebearer Association). Zebra danios could probably eat newly born fry, but I expect that losses would be minimal with a decently planted tank.
  4. Usually it’s another day or two until you start seeing some free-swimming; wait until then to start feeding. @Grizzly
  5. Another idea for the bank would be some Amazon swords. Maybe you should enter it into a competition if it ends up looking great!
  6. Try LFS or Craigslist/EBay/etc… you won’t make billions but it’s still something. Unless proven otherwise. Can you visually tell that they’re N class? Once they grow out the difference should be much more apparent. Try intoducing a fry-eating fish instead. Apistos or bettas. The male livebearer combo would work, but they may get aggressive due to lack of females . Long fin zebra fish are a good option.
  7. Another recurring theme also seems to be overhanging plants…maybe try using some kind of grass?
  8. I get that. It’s quite nice studying with my fish within arms reach…tho I probably don’t work as much as I should 🙃…
  9. Coming along for the ride!! Have these been bred in aquarium surroundings before ?
  10. I pulled around 15 fungused eggs out of the specimen container yesterday evening, but woke up to find about the same number in freshly laid eggs. 😂 I wonder how long they can keep this up? Bonus meme which definitely applies to Gretel: 😂😂
  11. That’s a fun size tank… it would be so cool if you could do a larger version for a sort of conference room/ dining table. Nice killis!
  12. Definitely a characin or a barb, but my money would be on a red-eyed monk tetra or lemon tetra. Maybe try contacting the vendor to see what was in the tank?
  13. That sounds like a pretty safe course of action. Make sure that the shrimp show no external parasites (lice etc)
  14. Looking great as always! Aren’t CO2 crystals dry ice? Or is that Nitrogen? P.S. How would you advise dividing a medium sized tank into several grow outs?
  15. Palaeatus. I know it’s not impressive, but I’ve been struggling to get eggs from these guys. They’re about 2 years old.
