  1. Definitely a platy or livebearer fry of some sort
  2. I'm looking to increase the variety of high quality foods i am feeding my fish. What are some foods people recommend? Right now i have Xtreme Bottom Wafers and Krill Flake, Easy Fry and Small Fish Food, and live Grindal Worms and BBS My fish are Corydoras, Platies, a Panda Garra, and mosquito fish.
  3. a fun topic. This is what i understand: There are 2 species, P. reticulata and P. wingei or guppies and endlers. However they do readily interbreed and this makes some cool color varieties, so most Guppies and Endlers available on the market these days are mutts (P. sp) owever, if you can find what is known as N-class endlers (im sure there is another name for them), they are true P. wingei and have not been crossbred with guppies.
  4. livebearer fry can usually eat BBS right after birth. should be fine
  5. I feel that. Setup an endler tank a few months ago, crazy to think the babies have started having babies now.
  6. Yup this is completely normal. Male platies will fight to assert their dominance over each other. Provide plenty of line of sight blocks so they cant see one another, be sure to provide hiding spots so they can escape bullying when needed. However, there is no really good way to avoid the bullying. My best success has been with many more females then males, but this introduces the possibility of fry which i understand you are trying to avoid.
  7. Female platy looking rather squared off. Babies soon hopefully? 🙏
  8. Looks very interesting. Is this a fish trap of some sort?
  9. Did a WC as usual this morning Unfortunately the Sunburst Platy Male was not playing nicely with his friends and was bullying them. I had to move him into time out in the 5gallon for now until he learns to be nice. I got some Water Wisteria from my friend a few weeks ago, i have been floating it in the 20gallon tank and it is growing nicely, not too slow and not too fast
  10. The platies that had been previously sick were behaving very healthy and looked good as well. I introduced them back to the 20gallon tank to be with their friends Shrimp tank continues to be overstocked, i will will need to do a big cull through soon, keeping only the best rest ones and moving the rest of them My grindal worm culture is doing very well, i have discovered that i can harvest and feed it out multiple times a week. The fish seem to be enjoying this update
  11. Always fun when things come a bit early. Can't wait to see the Congos colored up.
  12. I am growing concerned about Rohan. She recovered from the platy disease well and got moved back into the main tank but things are not going well for her. The sunburst male has decided she is not lady-like enough for him and he is treating her like a fellow male and bullying her, she spends all day hiding from him. It is not a good situation, Rohan will need to get moved soon, i like the male too much to move him at this point. I also realized that the mass of floating hornwort i had in the tank was blocking out a ton of light, now that it is removed photographing fish is certainly much easier Native Mosquitofish Whole tank shot: Garra Guy was being a good boy and posed for lots of pictures. The corydoras have pretty much accepted Garra Guy as one of their own when he chooses to join them. They are both active, goofball fish, that love to play in the flow so it makes some sense. Also what do you call a group of Cories? I spotted a few of mine lined up nicely next to each other. Right now im thinking its a gaggle of cories...
