  1. @Cory just purchased the 2nd generation of this product. Wow..easy setup and the speed is amazing. Getting full speed I am paying for now. Replaced my nighthawk router that was performing at really slow speeds. You were not kidding that this out performs high-end routers. Thank you for the recommendation.
  2. I have used this before for corners caulk work. Work for the most part. Some of the upper corners are just hard. Allway caulk tool. I think I got it at lowes.
  3. Nice build. Definitely a setup I am striving for..would like to get to a point at least the hobby is paying for itself.
  4. I really like the xtreme fish brand. They make many different products. My fish go nuts over it and it gets all eaten up fast. Been feeding it for a few weeks now and the colors in the fish are brighter.
  5. I have had problems with BBA and string algae. I utilized the methods @Candi suggested and it worked. Did extra water changes to just make sure it did not affect my water parameters to much.
  6. Today I finally got my Quarantine Tank. Now I can get it setup this weekend and cycle it. I will use the extra sponge filter I have in my community tank. Also, added 10 cherry shrimp.
  7. Defiantly a interesting read. I tested my water with the API Phosphate kit as well...found it interesting that my tap water is 2.0 PPM and the same results in my tank. Never really had a issue with algae except when I first stated my tank out. Now that the plants are established and growing well I don't have a issue with algae growth. I do have mollies and shrimp that probably keeping the algae at bay. None the less no matter what I do unless I use another water source then my phosphates will probably not drop below 2.0 PPM. I am not to worried as the high levels should not harm the fish but if a huge algae bloom happens that may cause a concern. Would like to see what others think about phosphate levels in the tank and what are the safe levels.
  8. The place is really coming along. Looking forward to seeing the progress along the way and setting up the new studio and fish room. Also, looking forward to seeing the go cam video of the ponds if you get a chance to film in them this year.
  9. Really awesome tanks!! The fish are very majestic in the tank. Thank you for sharing.
  10. Clovenpine, Welcome to the forum...I am sure someone will have a solution for the mineral deposits. It would be cool to see your platy tank. Please post a picture when you get some time. Happy Learning!
  11. Ok, Interesting question for sure if it is not hydra. Could be the start of some kind of fungus. Someone else with more experience will chime in eventually and get it figured out.
  12. Looks like hydra to me as well. Here is a pic of what it looks like.
  13. @Cory Thanks for adding these. Very useful. This should be a faster way to share a url for a video. Not sure if this is what you are talking about. If not you can delete my reply. 1. Click the three little dots on the video. Shown in picture right hand side. 2. Click Share, then click copy link. 3. Paste copied link into the link function on the thread. Hope this helps...maybe faster. I did this on my phone maybe different on the computer.
  14. @Mitch Norton and @Irene Thank you for input. I am leaning towards Molly fry as well. Just blows my mind that they can reproduce up to over 6 months without a male fish in the tank. As @Cory says "Nature Will Find a Way"
  15. Ok good news is I got some wigglers. But not sure if they are Dalmatian Molly Fry or Tetra Fry. My Male Molly past away 75 days ago and I read Mollies can hold the sperm for months but wanted to get folks thoughts on here and their experiences. Been seeing my Tetras chasing each other and what looks like a mating behavior. Never seen them do that before. So I was just not sure if they may be mollies or tetras. Please let me know your experiences and thoughts.
  16. As stated there are pro and cons for both. I prefer the coarse ones because I do not have to clean them as often as it got clogged. When I was running the fine one I had to clean it every week and since I went to the coarse one I only clean it every 3 weeks but not because it is clogged only because that is my schedule. Again everyone will have there likes and dislikes.
  17. Welcome to the forum. I am a Michigander at heart. Born and raised there but no longer live there.
  18. I have bought fish from AQUA HUNA and they are great. Fast shipping too with a good selection. https://aquahuna.com/collections/all?aff=2
  19. Looks amazing...I am sure the plants are eating it all up. What fish do plan on stocking?
  20. @Cory Would like to give some feedback. First I really like this forum and thank you for putting so much money, time, and effort into it. I liked the chat that was going on before but this platform is so much better. One thing that I would like to see change is on Android devices. When viewing the forum from google chrome you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the forum thread to mark as read. On the computer it is at the top of the forum thread. Would like to suggest having that option at the top of the thread for those phone devices using chrome.
  21. Welcome to the forum. It is another great resource to continue learning and seeing all the great things in this hobby. Really nice setup. Fish look amazing.
  22. Nice Tiger King. I am not a expert and have never owned one but I did some research for you. What I have found is L333 needs a high protein diet and they only accept a vegetarian diet when they are young. Once they mature their dietary needs change. They will need meaty foods such as blood worms. I am sure there are other things as well. Maybe someone with experience will chime in.
  23. Welcome to the forum. Lots of good info to look at and read.
  24. I have slowly upped my light intensity as my plants are growing good now. This is the setting I have been using for about 2 months now. The only thing I have changed over time is the percentage of intensity. Always keep 10 hours to keep it consistent in time on. Works great. I have a 38 gallon bow front deep.
