  1. Cory, Thank you for always making things better.
  2. My first guess would be potassium. Once I started dosing extra potassium they perked up. My Java ferns had black spots that would eventually rot and fall out, I did trim some as well then new growth happened.
  3. Welcome! Like the pics of the shrimp.

    shrimp help

Sorry to hear that about your shrimp. Not for sure what the brown spots are for sure. But I can tell you the tank parameters are probably the cause of the deaths. The recommended tank parameters should be: pH: 6.8 - 7.5 KH: 0 - 10 dKH
  5. Maybe but did get them from aqua huna so I definitely trust the source. All my female adult shrimp have had eggs and have them again. This is the only baby I have seen in the tank thus far.
  6. Ph: 7.8 ppm Kh: 120 ppm Gh: 200 ppm 12dkh Municipal water is hard. Nitrate: 20ppm Nitrite: 0 I never tested the calcium or copper levels. Shrimp and fish are doing excellent. I have seen the zoes floating in the water..well what I thing are zoes sometimes after a water change. They are very small and are wiggling. Usually see the tetras eating them. Just never thought I would see one survive because of the brackish water they need. I also do water changes once a week but switching to every other because my nitrates are staying at or under 20PPM. Plants are doing a good job now that they are established.
  7. Okay I have read that amano shrimp need brackish water to hatch their eggs and for the zoes to survive. But I know I do not have brackish water and I have a extra shrimp baby shrimp that appeared. I assume it can happen from time to time because it did. Has anyone else experienced this?
  8. Thank you @Daniel for putting the before and after pics together for me.
  9. Here is my contribution. Not the most impressive.
  10. Added two new Aquarium Co-op plants. Added some more root tabs.. Thank you again Team for another pleasant experience. Excited to see the banana plant and Dwarf Lilly to grow out.
  11. Welcome. Wow...amazing shots. Tanks look great.
  12. Tanks look amazing and like the mod for diffusing the water on the HOB. Great idea.
  13. Welcome and love the aqua scape! Cannot wait to follow your simple journal!
  14. @Daniel thank you for taking the time in putting together the before and after. I am not good at doing that myself. Much appreciate!! Hats off to you!
  15. Yes, done alot of things over the months as I got into planting the tank and trying to go more natural environment. I only leave the anchor decoration because my wife likes it and it has a cave for the pleco. Appreciate the comment
  16. Hello from South Carolina. I am Garren and have been following aqaurium Co-op/Cory's videos since I got into the hobby back in February. I have learned a lot between all the videos, blogs, live streams, Facebook support group, and now this forum. My tank would not look this good without all the help. I have attached photos to show the progress and changes over several months. All my plants are from aqaurium co-op and so are several other items. Currently I have only one 39 gallon bow front stocked with dalmatian mollies, neon tetras, shrimp, nitrite snails, and one piece. I have had a lot of luck with breeding mollies and have given at least 100 to the LFS.
  17. Welcome back to the hobby. I myself am pretty new as well been doing this since March and really love it. I think when my current fish pass then I will switch to CPD's...always wanted to get them just don't have the room right now.
  18. Replaced my Marineland biowheel HOB with a aquaclear 70. So far I like. I really like that I can fit more media in it and adjust the flow. Just slipped on the pre-filter from the marineland with no issues.
