  1. @Starburner This is straight from a blog post from Aquarium co-op. You can read the full version here. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/faqs/how-to-use-quaratine-med-trio Do not dose according to the box instructions. Instead, add 1 packet of Maracyn, 1 packet of ParaCleanse, and 1 U.S. teaspoon of Ich-X for every 10 gallons of aquarium water. (Ich-X does not stain aquarium decorations in our experience, but be careful not to spill it because it can stain your skin or clothing.) Let the fish soak in the medication, and do not feed them or change any water for 1 week. (If you feel you must feed your fish, wait until Day 4 or 5, and then only feed them very lightly.) You should keep the aquarium filter and heater on during this time. Also, aquarium lighting will not deactivate the medication. After 1 week has passed, change out 30% of the water in the aquarium. Resume feeding the fish, keep the water quality high, and watch for any change in symptoms. Added: Cory mentions in his video to wait 2 weeks and dose ParaCleanse one more time. 1 packet per 10 gallons. Wait 1 week then change out 30% water. I would then monitor for at least 1 more week while lightly feeding. Hope this helps clarify.
  2. Here is a picture of what my Pogostemon stellatus does when trimmed. I try trimming shorter so I branches out further down in the tank.
  3. Looks like stagehorn algea. Healthy Staghorn algae is typically a dark gray (almost brown), light gray or white color.

    Shrimp

I agree with @ange. I don't quarantine any invertebrates and I probably never will either.
  5. I personally only surface gravel vac. Especially now that my plants are well established.
  6. I don't have put experience as I have only quarantine my fish one time so far. I will let someone with a little more experience answer you question. I can however say it is nice to have a quarantine tank to run your new fish through the med trio. This will help reduce your risk of bring in a disease to your main tanks.
  7. Cory recommended to me to have a black background on my Quarantine tank as it is easier to see any diseases that could pop up. I already had water in it so I just used a black trash bag then cut it to size.
  8. I have 1 bristle nose pleco and I have noticed him on the banana plant just cleaning. Never does any damage. You should be just fine.
  9. I just used one with 1 medium pleco and shrimp. First the shrimp like it a lot. It lasted me about 2 weeks.
  10. Welcome to the forum!!! Enjoy as you learn. The one piece of advice I have heard many times is take it slow and steady.
  11. Cleaned out my Quarantine tank today. Got the itch to set it up fully as a planted tank now. 🙃🙃
  12. Fish look amazing and went through the quarantine process very well. They are now in their new home with more fish to keep them company. So far they are doing well and getting familiar with the new surrounding. They do like having all the plants to zoom in and out of. The quarantine process was a great success and I plan on doing it every time. Now time to clean out the tank and put it away till next time.
  13. Fully agree with everyone in here. When I got my Amanos they his well for weeks. I also have mollies in that tank. All survived and are now coming out more often.
  14. Here is a video from @Irene that may help as well. https://youtu.be/CyevfeqkRAM
  15. When I had my male it did the same thing. I added another female so that it evened out a bit more. Seemed to cut down on the stress for the females.
  16. Celestial Pearl Danio-Currently Have Dwarf Corydoras-On my buy List Least Killifish-On my buy List
  17. All fish doing well still. Added last dose of paracleanse. Marinate for 1 week and then I can put the new fish in their forever home. So excited 😁
  18. Attaching a photo may help will help with getting your question answered properly.
  19. Ange covered most of it. I would recommend waiting 2 weeks after the first week of medication and the water change. This is what Cory recommends. Also, make sure you are only feeding lightly during quarantine as it will help keep your tank parameters in check.
  20. Welcome to the forum and the hobby. Tanks look good. I think it is amazing that this hobby can relax you. Thank you for your service to our country!!!
  21. @StreetwiseThank you for the comments. I really like the coloring on these. I have been itching at putting them in my main tank. Staying strong and fighting of the urge until they go through a full quarantine
  22. All is still going well with my new CPD's in the quarantine tank. This week on Thursday I start the paracleanse treatment. Here is a pick on a few on the fish.
