  1. Today while cleaning the filter for my Discus tank I got 5 surprises. Sterbai Cory fry. This happened to me the last time I cleaned it out so I was cautious when I lifted out each tray I found 4 in the trays and while pulling the last tray I felt another one so I drained out the canister through a net. The moral of the story is you never know what you're going to find when you clean out your filters!
  2. It’s perfectly natural behavior there’s nothing to worry about.
  3. I had a table for an old CRT TV (they were heavy as hell) that I repurposed as a low aquarium stand which is underneath the LCD TV hanging on the wall.
  4. #2 is definitely a male. These fish are terrors. They’re fine in a community tank while they’re young. Once mature they killed a small school of Corys over night
  5. @Taco Playz try true Siamese Algae Eaters. They wont eat your plants but do a great job controlling your algae issues.
  6. @BucioI have one diagonally in a 10 gallon. It’s working fine.
  7. The top picture is the 120 sorry it’s not very current the lower picture is my 40 breeder which is current. Both tanks have Stingray 2.0 on them
  8. @KyleKVKI use Eheim Jager & Aquatop heaters in my tanks. I would also invest in a controller like Inkbird. Yes that is my Cane Corso in my profile.
  9. I have Kribs in a 40 breeder. They share the tank with Panda Corys, Von Rio Tetras, Brilliant Rasboras, & Ottos. The Kribs are raising fry with no issues.
  10. I have a Stingray 2.0 on a 120 24” deep. I’m growing dwarf sagg, swords, pogo octopus, dwarf lily, & water sprite.
  11. @KyleKVK it looks like you have a male & female. The top picture is the female look at the tail it's rounded while the males' is spade shaped. Apistos in general like warm water 82-84F and if your heater can't be adjusted you're probably not going to see much in the way of breeding activities. The Cardinals will live very happily in those temps.
  12. Try adding some Aragonite to a mesh filter bag. It will help buffer your water and bump up your pH some. This will not happen over night so give it some time. Aragonite and PH? - The Planted Tank Forum WWW.PLANTEDTANK.NET So I want to do a shellie cichlid tank with some needle and windelov java. My LFS stocks cichlids at 8.2. They are adamant about me raising my ph to You can also add some small pieces of flagstone. With all that being said once you start chasing pH you won't stop.
  13. The pair in my 120 have been spawning every week to 10 days Since I put the new male in the tank. Unfortunately the clutches have all fungused over. Good luck @Daniel
  14. I’d say 6-8 should spread diffuse the aggression.
  15. The controller is used so the water never gets below 68 and shuts the heater off at 72. I don’t think this will affect the other fish you’re considering adversely.
  16. It doesn’t work that way. Water always goes through the coarse media before the fine the other way around the fine media will constantly clog.
  17. Kribs are cichlids after all and can be aggressive. So how do you reduce that aggression you add more kribs. I have a 40 breeder with Kribs breeding in it and they barely acknowledge the other fish.
  18. As @Danielsaid the Gymnogeophagus & A borelii come from cooler waters. With that being said I’d still keep a heater in the tank with a controller on it set to a range of 68-72. This way if you decide to put Corys in this tank the water will be tolerable for them.
  19. If concealing the air lines is the issue CoOp sells black air lines. No need to drill especially the bottom of your tank.
  20. This my 40B. Panda Corys, Ottos, Kribs, Von Rio Tetras, and Brilliant Rasboras. https://youtu.be/Gh_PhP-UUt0
  21. @RyanRI have the Stingray 2.0 on all my tanks except the 5 gallon. All the plants are growing well. This in a 40 breeder.
