Anything could be possible - from internal parasites to chlorine in the water. Are there any other fish in the tank? Heat could be a problem - kuhlis prefer 26 Celsius and under in my experience.

That’s fun! Are you planning to keep the strain going?

Foaming at top of guppy fry tank

I recently had the same problem with a new HOB. It could be industrial residue? I drained the tank and wiped it down with a sponge to get rid of all the bubbles on the sides.- 3 replies

Corys rub all plants to death

I sometimes get that when I’ve dimmed my lighting a bit. Maybe try some tougher plants like anubias or Java fern? -

Tank Setup to Breed any egg-scattering fish?
TheSwissAquarist replied to rgb_aquarium's topic in Fish Breeding
Here’s a setup I recently did for glowlight tetras : I had to drain the tank because I got a little bit too clever by trying to put peat in the mini HOB instead of in the tank itself. The HOB had some industrial residue in it 😑 -

Copper Amino acid is a Copper Salt (Copper with an acid) mixed with Amino ( molecules that combine to form proteins) to keep it together. It does contain copper however, so I wouldn’t feed it again. 😅 Are the crabs doing ok? -

There was some kind of tetra unfriendly bubbly mess on the surface this morning. I’m thinking that it came from the new filter ? Looks like I gotta drain the tank and start again. 😑 -

Have you tried a spawning trigger? The presence of another male in the tank could incite them to spawn. -

Tank Setup to Breed any egg-scattering fish?

What fish are you planning to breed? Just add some spawning medium and you should be good. -
Looks a bit like a tumor or hole-in-the-head. @Colu

A Glowlight trio has been added (sexed to the best of my abilities)…with some luck they’ll spawn 🤞

A fellow club member had one of his females spawn on the side of a lava rock… I’m thinking about swapping some danios for Apistogrammas from him in the future. -

What do you feed your Daphnia @Guppysnail? Constant BBS for fish conditioning is getting a tad expensive for me 🫠.

I have a theory that all you’re breeding succèss may be due to either a) The uranium in your tap water or b) the large variety of livefoods you feed your tanks 🧐. What would be your theory?- 2,924 replies

@GoofyGarra you did have a point with the entire color changing with age stuff. It seems that zebra danios first develop their iridescence before they get their gold colors underneath. I’ve reset the spawning tank by draining it completely and letting it sit for a day to kill off anything that may get at the eggs. There’s some peat in the mini HOB to condition the water. Which species should I try? Glowlight or Black phantom tetras??? Fish enjoying the Halloween pumpkin 🎃
