  1. Nice! I’m thinking about doing one myself. What are the stocking plans?
  2. Glad to see that I’m not the only guy who’s never happy with the placing of his plants 🌱😂
  3. Went to the LFS to get a duckweed net 😑, not the most interesting thing, I know, but I managed to snap a couple of pics: Heres Mopani having a snack on some Rasberry leaves: I’m debating on the merits of a patio pond…probably with Goldfish or WCMM. I originally planned to do rainbow shiners in a 60 gal plastic cow water trough; but my parents said a straight ‘no’ to that being sunk into the garden…a 30 gal bucket could pass. Any suggestions? Night temperatures are round 55 (Fahrenheit 💩), up to 76ish in the daytime; although we do get the occasional 88 degree roasting. @Dean’s Fishroom @Fish Folk
  4. That’s epic! Can’t wait to see it if I can come across the pond! Kudos to you for coming back to this topic 3 months later.🙂
  5. It’s magnified 🤣 Sadly I don’t do YouTube, on pain of ending up as the leaf that they’re eating 🫠. Not that the vid would be interesting though…maybe a Timelapse? Might be when they’re small(er)? The watertight area of the terrarium can hold exactly 8 liters. Take away 2/3 or so from that (occupied by soil) and you have about 2.33 liters (0.62 gal). Maybe a shrimp or something, but I’m not comfortable with keeping something in such a small container, what with pH crashes and ammonia etc… But I could do water changes with a bottle top…🐸
  6. They’re veggies, and they tolerate anything above 60% humidity (having a water bowl in the enclosure already puts it up to 70%, so I just took it a bit further. 😂)
  7. I fully understand the balancing act you have to do, it’s the same between me and my parents. I was told that some rocks down by a river looked nice…aka put them in your tank so that I continue to look upon them favorably . Heading for that Easter Island look:
  8. Anyone here know Rudyard Kiplings poem “If” ? I’ve done a fishy version! If you can breed your fish When all about you fail and blame it on you If you can set up another tank when all around you advise not to But make allowance for their doubting too If you can scape and not be tired by scaping Or scrape, don’t deal in algae scraping Or being a NERM, don’t give way to downsizing And yet not look too good, nor talk too wise If you can gravel vac, but not make vaccing your master If you can dose ferts to make your plants grow faster If you can meet with planaria and columnaris and not let those speed bumps get in your way If you can bear to ship the fish that you’ve bred, processed by USPS to make a trap for fools Or watch the tanks that you have your life to, algified And clean and plant ‘‘em again with an Amano Army as tool If you can make one group of all your juvies And risk them all at an aquarium swap And sell out, and start again with a pair of guppies And yet again reach the top If you can make your barbs and plecos and tetras spawn when past their best And culture live foods to give their fry life of such high a zest If you can talk with beginners and keep your virtue Or walk along Fishtubers and not lose the hobbyists touch If neither Ich nor loving puffers can hurt you if all meds count with you, none doses too much If you can fill the unforgiving fishroom With installations made through serendipity Yours is the aquarium hobby, but not too soon And - which is more - you can have a Murphy! For anyone who knows the original I expect it’s quite funny 😁
  9. A 55 gal is perfect for breeding angels in my opinion. Maybe throw in some Apistos and/or Corydoras for another species to breed?
  10. @Colu Is our resident medic 🩺 @Chick-In-Of-TheSea had some bubbles inside her bettas fins once, but I thing they went away after 24h. Good luck!
  11. A romantic raspberry leaf dinner. “Try this chloroplast” @beastie The flower is doing something…no idea what! Please ignore the duckweed. 🤦‍♂️
  12. You’d think that they grow quickly in the wild due to their small size…🤷‍♂️
  13. Good to see that they’re doing great! How many are there?
  14. I’m not part of anything - the fish clubs in Switzerland are a bit half-hearted.
  15. Watching crypts grow is like watching elephants at a zoo. It takes forever for them to do something interesting!
