  1. My staghorn algae problem has returned with a vengeance. My wholle tank has it on 40% on my decor. Is it safe to double dose easy carbon to eradicate this problem. I also have five amano shrimp and it doesnt seem to help. Please help!
  2. Been wanting to do this with my paludarium for a while now. Any ideas.
  3. A fizz baby brine tablet or a undergravel filter with a heater inside and a solids collection space that can serve as a rootfeeder groving space
  4. Easy green contains both nitrates and ammonia. Dial it back until you reach a desired number. And also if your need more nutrients use flourish
  5. Best method is to make ring out of air line tubing and use a airline tube holder to hold it around the waterfall.
  6. Cut off a healthy leaf close the the base of the plant an let it float in your tank. It will eventually sprout roots and become a new bannana plant.
  7. Hornwort and water sprite really suck up nutrients very well. Another good one is to use water lettuce.
  8. The dirt in the bag is peat. It keeps the bulb insulated during shipping. Just rinse the bulb and chuck it in a tank.
  9. Id say to use two of them per plant per month. Also dont worry about using a gravel vac unless it looks bad on the surface of the gravel. In this case just lightly press the vac on the top of the gravel for a few seconds. Easy green also helps there growth. A dirted tank is still the king of the hill for crypts.
  10. All of the easy plants should do just fine. Maybe not floating plants though.
  11. Having some issues with GSA lately. Been using easy carbon and im about to get some amano shrimp to help with the other algae in the tank. Any tips on other ways to keep GSA at bay or at least cut down on it?
  12. I love the oldschool aquarium plants. Bannana plants are my favorite of the ones im aware of. They are so easy to grow and to propogate. Not to mention how amazingly cheap they are. I belive the CO OP sells them for $3.99.
  13. Best way to get rid of snails in that small of a tank is just to manually remove them. There arent many thing that eat them that can live in a ten gallon.
  14. Easy carbon is vital in my opinion for getting rid of staghorn algae. Best way to do it is to dose the easy carbon with a syringe directly onto the algae for a few days. Then just use it normally. If you have mosses or jungle val dont use this method. Also amano shrimp could be a good help to this problem with the easy carbon or not.
  15. Definitely worth it if you are wanting to store some plants or make a sort of freshwater refuium. Also you could use it to keep certain fish out of the display aftrr quarantining them to have them preped for another tank. Just as long as you quarantine them before doing so or it could be problematic.
  16. If the algae covers the plants enough it can block out the light. Generally that doesnt happen unless you have some major algae problems though. Id recommend some amano shrimp and nerite snails just to be safe. Plus they add such a low bioload there basically a cleaning service.
  17. I have a crypt wentii red in my 20 gallon community tank and it was thriving for about ten months but its been dying back for about a month now. Not sure if its a nutrients problem but i dose easy green weekly and the gravel is very full of mulm. It also has a small GSA problem but i dont think thats the problem. Please help.
  18. Im wanting to get some amanos for my 20 gallon but im concered my redeye tetras might be agressive towards them. Does anyone know if thats the case?
  19. Need some algae eaters for my 20 gallon tanks. Pond snails arent doing quite enough to fight the algae off. Easy carbon helps but i need a cleaning crew. Any ideas?
  20. Hair algae or possibly blue green algae. Easy carbon helps and use less iron if your dosing it.
  21. Crypts and val are the way to go. For more color and texture aquarium lilies work well and so do bannana plants
  22. The best heater are fluval. They are easy to use and you can set the temp on them. If its for a tank smaller that 20 gallons i would suggest the sicce jolly as it is affordable and realistically great for smaller tanks.
