  1. So I’m running a canister filter, a medium sponge filter, and a power head on a 55 gallon with 12 Mbuna (yellow labs, acei, and rusty cichlids). Could I pull the canister filter and just add another sponge filter? I’ve always heard Africans need a little more filtration and this is my first time keeping them. If I can pull the canister, it gives me extra room for another QT tank.
  2. I have a problem. I bought a 75, 40 breeder, 29, 20 high, and a 10. I have no idea what I’m going to do with them😅 I already have a 37 in the garage waiting on Christmas for my daughter. It should be fun trying to figure it out. The Coop will be getting a massive order from me soon. Need lots of air pumps, sponge filters, and plants. Someday I may even get around to putting fish in there🤪.
  3. You could throw a sponge filter into the old tank for a few days before making the change. If you did that, I wouldn’t worry about the old cartridge.
  4. I have a feeling center bracing is more for outward pressure vs downward pressure...hope that makes sense
  5. Bacteria bloom maybe? Somebody smarter than me will chime in but if I had to guess (which is what I’m doing) that would be it. I would also slow down on changing a bunch of stuff if your parameters are good. Hopefully someone more experienced will jump in.
  6. From those pictures, it’s really hard to see. The ones on the left, maybe some kind of platy?
  7. Sometimes I use the same knife for the peanut butter and the jelly. We are all horrible people.
  8. A pair of angelfish and a pair of Apistos in a planted 37 gallon? "That would be glorious!" or"Your sir are insane."?
  9. I have a 37 that's going in the daughters room for Christmas. Also have a 20 gallon that's going in mine "for Christmas". I also have a spot carved out for a 75 but I haven't told my wife yet so...
  10. I agree to try to figure out what you want to keep first. But, if you have my problem when you see everything that's out there, you'll decide you need about 12 more aquariums.
  11. I have no experience with much of anything but that's a good looking fish
  12. I have a pleco that is 5-6. I didn't realize angels lived for so long. Good to know.
  13. This really is awesome. Imagine if all businesses, forums, etc were run like this. I’m a cranky turd and I’m impressed.😆
  14. Don’t let the brine shrimp thing scare you. It’s super easy. There’s enough eggs in that coop container to feed a few million fry.😂
  15. I like the idea of coop building a better python and calling it either the Murphy or the Nerm. I don’t know which, I’m torn.😀
  16. It would be cool if there was a “start up kit” type thing where you get several products with a little discount for starting a new tank. For example, a sponge filter, air stone, usb air pump, check valve, and coop towel for a couple of bucks less than buying separate. Don’t know, coop prices might be so low that it isn’t possible.
  17. I could give a complicated answer; but, the truth is I really like fish and I really like water.
  18. Xtreme Krill has been a hit. Fluval Bug Bites ( the original one) and the fluval Spirulina flake also get inhaled. Hikari Freeze dried blood worms, hikari wafers, live baby brine, some hikari Cichlid pellets, zucchini. The Cichlid pellets don’t seem to go over well. Everything else gets eaten no problem. I’ve got a Mbuna tank, a guppy tank, and two Betta tanks (and an angelfish tank coming soon)🤪
  19. I started my first Mbuna tank. I've read the info about watching the amount of protein you feed them to avoid bloat. How do I pick a food? For example, when I look at the Xtreme site, it looks like the breakdown of protein, fat, etc is pretty much the same for all of the flake foods. The Krill Flake seems to have less protein than the Spirulina Flake? So, somebody smarter than me, help me out. What do I need to look for? Thanks everybody.
  20. You'll be fine. I have the medium in a 10 with no issue. I'm no expert but I would think more surface area is a good thing.
  21. Ninja Foodi Airfryer oven. Not the air fryer; but the Airfryer oven. It works as an Airfryer, convection oven, toaster, broiler, etc. Heats up in about 30 seconds. Makes quick meals super easy. Even the two teenagers use it regularly.
  22. How about we get rid of the mouse pad and the laptop and add more tacos.
