  1. On the YouTube channel. Usually Mondays at 6 eastern. I think Cory's been a little busy lately with holidays and moving so the schedule's been a little different lately.
  2. might need a little more cover for all the babies to make it; but, once that java moss grows that should help.
  3. I know the shells are on Amazon. Escargot shells...that’s about all the help I am.
  4. It’s crazy to me that bristlenose breed like that but I can’t find one to save my life at the 3 LFS or the 4 big box stores around me. They all have the labels but haven’t had one in months.
  5. Watch every YouTube video Aquarium Coop has posted and you will fall into the never ending rabbit hole that the rest of us are in...it will also answer all your questions way more in depth than somebody could with a forum post. The tank your describing isn’t that tough once you get the basics, although the aquascaping won’t reach Lizzie status without a lot of practice.
  6. I have a few clowns that I haven’t killed yet, so they must somewhat hardy.
  7. I still use a bucket on 8 tanks. I figure, once I’m done, I’m good on exercise until next time😁
  8. I think you are talking about the pseudomugil gertrudae
  9. You might try the breeder box idea just for a couple of days. Sometimes the kids need a timeout.
  10. Something like this https://www.homedepot.com/p/Weaber-Weaber-1-2-in-x-4-in-x-4-ft-Weathered-Hardwood-Board-8-Piece-27862/20707814. You are just using it to "dress up the stand"...nothing structural.
  11. Don't some of the pseudomugil species have some yellow? I've never owned any but I seem to remember seeing some that had some vibrant yellow.
  12. Also, you may look at building a standard 2x4 stand and covering it with something to "dress it up". I did that in my daughter's room. I built a 2x4 stand then covered the 2x4s with faux barn wood. Cost an extra $30 but it looks nice. Not really "sleek" but nice.
  13. I'm no engineer but surely it can't be worse than the stuff they use for aquarium stands sold at the big box stores. It amazes me those things hold a 125 gallon aquarium but they seem to work.
  14. I figure the tank water is no worse than my diet Mt dew addiction...I wish I was kidding.
  15. Some loaches will take care of them but the nerites would have to go elsewhere...or embrace the ugly and let them clean for you. I have them in every tank, except the cichlid tank...cause the cichlids removed them.
  16. And, if you get a good group, they will give you all the "community" you could want. They never sit still.
  17. Look at my reply to the 90 gallon cichlid tank question. Look at the eheim 300 watt heater at petsmart if you have one close. It's on sale for $30. I would drop all the other fish except maybe a bristle nose or two and look at various mbuna. Mixed Africa.cichlids usually means they are "mutts" so their not sure what they are. Like I said in the other post, I have yellow labs, yellow tail acei, and rusty cichlids and they do great together. They will munch some plants though.
  18. Sitting next to a tank with yellow labs, acei, and rusty cichlids. They get along fine. The only problem I see with your proposal is the heavily planted idea. They may devour or destroy your plants but you could give it a try. I throw extra hornwort in mine and they mangle it in a day. I do have a pothos growing out of the back. They chew on the roots but that plant can take a beating. I even have a x-ray tetra in there that was left from the old batch of fish. They completely leave him alone. Heck, he pretty much rules one side of the tank. Hopefully they never figure out they are bigger than him. Look at rustys. If you get good ones with good color, they are awesome.
  19. Had a pleco go flying out of the tank the other day. Not sure what he was trying to accomplish. The hole back there is barely big enough for him to fit through. Luckily, my daughter was in the room, grabbed him, and he's doing fine. Stuff happens. Like someone above said, they're tougher than we give them credit for.
