  1. Posting for a friend that is not a member of the forum. She had 4 guppies and 1 BNP in a 10g w/ 2 mysteries. A mystery snail had pitting of the shell and she added crushed coral, less than the recommended amount, 1 week ago. No other changes were made. Last night all 4 fish and the BNP died. The snails are active. Parameters before: pH 7.4 Temp 78 kH 1 gH 0 amm - 0 no2 - 0 no3 - 10 Parameters after: pH 7.4 Temp 78 kH 8 gH 7 amm - 0 no2 - 0 no3 - 10 After the deaths she was thinking about the fish, thought "maybe" she saw a little bit of stress in the guppies, nothing major, throughout the week. Could the cc have caused the mass dieoff suddenly? No water changes were done since cc was added.
  2. I would agree. But the dad snail shell still looks thick, so that is good.
  3. I believe it! I think it’s officially 5x the bioload of fish but I get it- it seems like so much more, especially since you have so many. I had to evacuate the two that were in the shrimp tank. Mostly for that reason but also because I didn’t want them bulldozing little shrimplets. Another thing I think @Guppysnail told me one time- if there are a lot of snails in the tank the calcium gets depleted quickly? @Bev C uses liquid calcium. I wonder if that would be helpful.
  4. Yeah he is! Bit of pitting there on the shell. Is your water on the softer side?
  5. I’ve been experiencing the same thing with a lot of the stores. Empty shells, inactive snails, it’s like they just dump them in a tank and they’re an afterthought. It bums me out. I used the Nextdoor app to post to my neighbors about the snails I was adopting out. One couple with major MTS came twice and got 10 each time. They have like 10 tanks, one is a 160 gal. Sorry you lost some snails. Life threw you a curveball. ☹️
  6. Hey how are your mysteries? Did you adopt any out or are they all livin the dream in the 75? The teddy bear in your signature is so cute.
  7. Heavens-to-Betsy, I come home and.. hole in tail. What the 🚚 ? Here are some pics of tank, front and sides. Open to suggestions again. So far: course of salt, success regression course of kanaplex, success, then tail biting course of kanaplex 2nd time, success hole in fin Always IAL tea. There was a piece of plant at his tunnel entrance that looked pokey. I clipped it and removed it but idk. Felt like the consistency of a broccoli stem. Could that really poke a hole in a fin? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Back to square 1, I guess. Well I guess I recall @Colu saying it can be because he flared. I will add salt back. There’s no salt anymore. So 1 T/5g
  8. He was under the last heater a lot and I felt it was too hot. Some reviewers complained about that one. So now he has the ACO heater.
  9. 🤣🤣🤣 I hid my last brine shrimp informational comment. Now I shall enjoy the ride and find out who is the G.O.A.T. of brine shrimp civilization!
  10. This is gonna be good! Who will be the champion of the Brine Shrimps? My LFS always has bagged live brine shrimp at the checkout counter. Sometimes I’ll snag one and the community tank LOVES it! The tetras start mating dances like crazy after eating it. #imjusthereforthedogpics
  11. Yep! Is that like the one that comes in bacter ae? Like a round tray that sits in the container? Is that the swordtail with the fin rot?
  12. I plan to add more plants for him soon and stay away from hardscape, at least for now. If anything maybe some smaller river rocks later on.
  13. Livin the good life. Also he will swim through the tunnel for me. And then I give him a worm or a brine shrimp. He’s pretty good at going where I indicate. I got him to dive down to the bottom for a pellet that he had lost also.
