  1. That is enough water to take out. the white fuzz is called biofilm. Your snail will eat it or you can clean it off in your bucket of tank water. I use a new toothbrush to do it.
  2. About a half teaspoon. That one is good because it helps detoxify ammonia.
  3. I have a theory that they scattered their eggs into the marbles because @Fish Folk uses larger pebbles for a similar purpose.
  4. She tried to but after she got back home she found more in her tank LOL! @Guppysnail
  5. Phrase it like, “do you want a free plant for your fish tank?”
  6. Still go ahead and do the water change. You need to dilute the ammonia.
  7. No, you want it to grow the bacteria that will eat the ammonia so you should not wash it. If it gets dirty you can swish it in the TANK water that is in your water change bucket. Never use tap water or it will kill the good bacteria. @Helpwithmy_snailpls If you ever need to clean your decorations do that in tank water also. The video will explain why. What brand of dechlorinator are you using?
  8. If you have ammonia, every day change the water. It will go away when bacteria starts to build up in your tank. The bacteria will eat the ammonia. This video is really good to understand what is happening. It’s kind of a longer 17 minute video but it is really really helpful.
  9. If you don’t have Prime, it’s ok, you don’t have to go buy it right now. Just change the water each day until the ammonia is 0.
  10. I would do 50% and use a dechlorinator that detoxifies ammonia such as Prime. Since it is a larger volume of water you’re changing, trying to match the temperature of the new water to your tank. I use a meat thermometer but if you have a thermometer in your tank you can put that in your bucket to check the temperature. How long has your tank been set up?
  11. Based on the lighting I believe it is either 0 or .25. What do you believe it is when you read it? If it is above 0 you should do a water change because any amount of ammonia is toxic.
  12. We have wild ones here that look similar (darker) and we call them gopher tortoises. One popped up out of a hole in my front yard one day.
  13. I want floss in there no matter what; my tank needs polishing. I have a lot of snails! 😅 Plus the whole goal was to get rid of the particulates, and coarse only just doesn’t cut it. @nabokovfan87
  14. Eh.. I did attempt to reload again this morning but it still wanted to bypass so back to the load it likes (right now) -first coarse. Then floss. Who knows LOL I guess as long as it doesn’t overflow it’s doing stuff. The water looks clearer too. & I couldn’t even add my ceramics so they are in the tank.
  15. 125 gal! 😱 Anyone know the official name for these turtles? Are they sliders of some sort?
  16. The LFS always has these little turtles. They are like 2”. I feel like it’s some kind of a trick where they are little and cute NOW but then get massive…🤨
