    Feeling much like an underacheiver. 37 total, 37 average, 1 tank. Between my wallet and my house size, I'm pretty limited.

    Funny story: Apparently, TopFin 37s take 29.37 inch lids, not 30. I got onto the PetSmart Website, since they deal in TopFin, and realized the two are not compatible. Go figure. MY mistake I guess, trying to mix the two brands.

    When I first got my tank, it was a 37 gallon TopFin kit. I was quite unhappy with the cover that comes with the tank, so I have a NICREW light on order, and I went to my local PetSuppliesPlus and bought the Aqueon VersaTop 30" glass lid, which clearly states it fits a 37 gallon tank. Sadly when I got home, the lid was about a quarter inch too long! Any suggestions as to glass lids or other ideas that will work with the NICREW?

    I'm liking your ideas! The tank looks good to start, and I would agree that your best option would likely be bottom dwellers like loaches or cories, and let the betta have free reign above.

    While I don't have any, I've heard good things about Raspboras. Another thought is having a nice school of cories under your top school.

    Received my latest ACO order! Did about a 75% water change to lower the water level enough to attach my plants and get new root tabs in. Got my Murphy sticker on the stand, and my towel hanging on the door. Planned to take pictures of how great the new plants look, but in my excitement, as I wrote in another thread, I forgot to rinse my purigen, and it now looks like I filled my tank with milk. Dosed with clarity, and hoping it clears up some soon!

    Pictures of my mess. That being said, I was extremely happy with how the new plants looked before the tank went into the handbasket.

    So I got my order from ACO today, and was thrilled at how great the plants looked! In fact I was so excited about the plants that I realized after putting the plants in, doing a 75% water change, and optimizing my filter with a pre-intake sponge and purigen for the first time, that I FORGOT TO RINSE THE PURIGEN! My water is now a milky white. Do I have to do another major water change right away? Did I just sentence all my fish to death? Or will the cloudiness go away with time as the filter processes the water? PLEASE HELP!!

    At this moment I have a clown pleco, 6 cories, and a handful of pesky snails who may eventually necessitate a different kind of clean up crew (suggestions welcomed).

    If @tolstoy21 can mention fish, I think it's more than fair that I add water, more tanks than I have money for, and lots of substrate and decorations.

    If it's on there, and it's related to fish or aquariums, I'M IN. If I see something that is patently untrue, I'M OUT. Can't think of any examples of that though.

    I don't have that many in my tank yet! At this point I would say my Amazon Swords, since they are the plant that is doing the best. However, on Monday I should be getting my order from the Co-Op and I have a feeling I'm going to really enjoy my Windelov Java Fern! If it is even half as awesome as I'm imagining it being, there should be no contest!
