  1. Welcome Katie! The easiest way, for me at least, to share pictures is to drag the file to the box where you're typing., but the picture does have to be small enough. Can't wait to see as the remodel moves along!
  2. If only I could start every morning with this big of a laugh!
  3. I'm loving the look of your tank, if nothing else. I like the light sand with the dark rocks, all set off by the deep blue background. It will look even greater once that grass spreads. That's the same thing I'm waiting on down here in Maryland, my plants to do their thing and spread!
  4. I was just describing it to @Cory in another thread before I saw your post.
  5. I laughed a little reading your post, @treesap, because I am struggling with the exact opposite. My water runs between 150-300 GH, and about 40 KH, with pH falling between 6.8 and 7.2.
  6. Thanks for that, @Cory. The centerpiece of the tank is a pair of Koi angels, are they ill-suited for the lower pH? What is the best way in your opinion to bring that pH up?
  7. She actually died as of last night. There was a thick pink curl that appeared out of the anus, which then turned white, and she was lying on the bottom, then was dead. All of my other fish are swimming around healthy and happy. In case it was something with the tank, this morning, which by this point isn't affecting her anymore, my tank was at 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, <20 nitrates, and pH of about 7. The two things that do concern me about the parameters in general are a relatively low alkalinity (About 40), and very hard water (between 150 and 300). Not sure what to do with those. I've dosed with EasyBalance from Tetra, but didn't see much of a difference.
  8. I'm in MD, and just received two Angelfish from AngelsPlus.com. My angels came alive, swimming, and vibrant. I note they also have guppies.
  9. My 37 with cories, mollies, swordtails, and angels runs at about 81 right now. Not sure if it's right, but they seem to enjoy it.
  10. At the moment I'm running an AquaClear 50. I've liked it so far, and the couple times I've lost power, it has actually self-primed. I am a big fan of the plastic basket inside, as well as the convenient drip tray useful lid.
  11. Doesn't look all that happy to be getting attention in the picture!
  12. Welcome to your new favorite forum from Baltimore, Maryland!😷
  13. Both are great! I like the look of that armoire!
  14. Beasty! I just went with MicroSwords so they will spread by runner and eventually for a nice little grassy carpet in front of my swords and jungle val in the back.
  15. I was too big of a scaredy corycat to mess with co2, I went with all gassless plants! Once again, I applaud your bravery 😄
  16. I have been wondering about clubs in my area. Baltimore is not exactly a small town, so I'm sure there are some, but often my work schedule keeps me from any semblance of a social life. That's why I love the CARE forums, I sit and update my posts and follow along with everything all from the comfort of my desk...while on the clock... and hoping that my boss is not a fish keeper. 😉
  17. I could get into that, I think. Guaranteed support for ACO, and a building of the hobby and friend network.
  18. If you weren't I'd be worried about ya!
  19. That's an amazing deal!! Every time I try to get a tank on Craiglist I get stood up at the meet, or the whole deal just seems way to creepy for me to follow through.
  20. I don't think I'm exact enough... I wanted to build a stand for my 37 but was sure I'd end up making it a little off level and break my tank while I'm out at work or something equally catastrophic.
  21. Looks like it's going to be great!
  22. THAT'S IT!! The Hognosed Brochis!
  23. I've never been brave enough to get any of these, maybe I should get some into the tank!
