  1. Woohoo!!! Glad to hear! 🥳🥳🥳
  2. I really enjoy that 24 people did not find that review helpful! 😂
  3. That's going to be a big job!!! You've got this! 💪😆👍 I'd definitely start with the 40, and I don't know if I'd have enough dedication to move the substrate...so much dust...so much mulm...haha! I do guess now would be as good a time as any to move substrate though... Keep us updated!!!
  4. @Cory - a forum livestream would be prettyyyy coool!!! Maybe we should make it a BYOT affair (bring your own tacos)! 😂🌮 We'd definitely need a meme awards category, @TheDukeAnumber1! That could be cool...funniest meme, most liked meme, Cory's favorite meme, sickest burn meme...
  5. Hooray Hugo!!! And, hoorayyyyy plants!!! Please keep us updated on how Hugo does with the tetras! I bet he'll do great!! I like to think that Spritz is doing well with the shrimp...buuuuut I've seen two molts this week...which makes me wonder if they're stressed out. 🤷‍♀️
  6. Hi Chase! 👋 Welcome to the forum!! North Carolinians unite! 😜👍 Wonder Shells have worked...wonders, haha...for my GH - I'm registering at 300 ppm in my 20L, and I've just been using the little small ones until they dissolve. They haven't done much for my KH, and have kept my PH around the mid 7's. I've had success with crushed coral as well...although, it made a more low-key impact. I plugged your livestock into the aqadvisor.com website (minus the guppies), and (for whatever it's worth) this is what it spit out: I know plants like more acidic water...so I'd aim for a pH in the mid to high 6's! I'd hate to make any drastic changes since your fish are happy! But, it never hurts to add more plants!!! @KaitieG's idea of the floating plants is really great! They can help remove an excess nutrients, so the algae can't take advantage of the situation as easily, and also reduce your lighting slightly. Keep us updated on your progress!!! We're rooting for you! 😆👍
  7. Hi JP! 👋 Welcome to the forum!!! It's a great resource! 😆👍
  8. My largest tank is a 20L, so take this with a grain of salt, but I'd fill it with lots of fun plants! I'm a huuuge fan of getting a massive piece of interesting driftwood as a focal point and the shoving plants (especially java fern) in the nooks and crannies of the driftwood!
  9. @CorydorasEthan - thanks for posting that website!! 😆👍 Just checked my planned stocking and found out that my filtration was insufficient! Luckily, I had a Co-Op sponge filter waiting in the wings! 😜
  10. You could always try some shrimp! Although...you may want to add some more hiding places so that they can get away if the betta is being too boisterous! And, totally agree with @CorydorasEthan - you can never go wrong with snails!
  11. Thank you, @Jungle Fan!! I can't wait for the plants to get bigger and fill in! 😆👍 I will check out the Red Flame Sword and the Christmas moss for sure...and I love the idea of moss! I've never mossed before!!
  12. @CorydorasEthan - there are definitely some little babies on many of the leaves!! Some of the brown stuff is on the actual leaf...when I had the two anubias rot, I treated all my plants with hydrogen peroxide, so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. I dose Easy Green weekly, so surely it's not a nutrient deficiency? Or...maybe it is? I know Java Fern are potassium hogs, so that could be part of it, for sure!
  13. Went to the Aquatics Expo today...I feel like expos may not be my scene. 😂 I did buy some Bacopa caroliniana from a vendor...after I told the vendor I love low light plants! 🤦‍♀️ I planted it in front of my filter almost dead center in the tank. I'll take pictures if it's a success...otherwise, we'll just pretend it never happened! 😜 My java fern is looking a little...brown. Either my light is too bright, or there's a potassium (or other nutrient) issue. Any thoughts? Anddd, I placed an order online for some fish after I didn't have the success I was hoping for at the expo. Bought some Lambchop Rasboras and some Julii Corydoras and a tiger nerite (Pat needs a buddy! And, I need my DBF to be gone!). Spritz is enjoying his vacation...the driftwood piece in the middle is great for exploring, and the shrimps are interesting! I don't think he's eaten any. 🤞 I feel like he'll be sad to go back to the 5 gal after Spring Break!
  14. How to Properly Gravel Vacuum a Tank Top 10 Betta Tank Mates for Community Tanks How to Make a Quick and Easy Quarantine Tank (love anything with Irene!) The one where Dean picks his favorite Betta fish from the rack (I can't find the title...love anything with Dean and Jimmy!) Behind the Scenes of Aquarium Co-Op's Warehouse
  15. That tank sounds amazing!!! Good luck with convincing the hubby! I think the surface of that cabinet is looking mightyyyy bare...it's totally screaming for a fish tank! 😜 Was I dreaming that you are from NC? I feel like our water issues are similar, haha!!
  16. I think that would look nice! Especially if you only see wall behind that side. You can always take it off if you hate it!
  17. I love your tanks and your doggo!!! If the crushed coral doesn't work out for your 29...I've been kind of obsessed with Wonder Shells lately. They do a great job at raising pH...jury is still out on KH! And, they make me feel like I'm giving my snails a shell vitamin. 🐌👍 Thank you for sharing all the great pictures!!! And...that cabinet looks really sturdy to me! I'm sure you could get away with at least a 20 long!
  18. I'm part of the lower intensity for longer hours school...but I'll be interested to know your findings! You could always increase your intensity and keep the same hours for a few weeks and see what happens! Are you running CO2?
  19. Your corydoras are VERY cute!!! 😍 I may have missed this from an earlier post, but how many do you have in there? They look so happy!!
  20. @JamesB - I will have to check them out - that's where I got Spritz!! I would love a splash of red!! I'll be on the lookout for some red melon swords!
  21. Pat, the nerite, has gone wild on the biofilm! The driftwood pictured below was COVERED...now you can see the path that Pat has cut through the pesky DBF! The shrimp are cute...but not super helpful, haha! The Java fern isn't looking super great...I'm thinking about getting some potassium to supplement my Easy Green regimen. I can't decide if I'm worried about the biofilm on the dwarf lily bulb. The Carolina Aquatics Expo is this weekend, and I've bought tickets to go! I'm interested in what I'll see there...I'm looking for Salt and Pepper Pygmy Corydoras and maybe some Lambchop Rasboras...and PLANTS!!! Any suggestions on plants to watch for to fill out the tank would be very welcomed!! Something in a different color that is still cool with low-tech, low/medium light would be awesome! The crypts are starting to fill in...I didn't think I'd like crypts...but I was so wrong. I love 'em. 😜
  22. So...it's almost Spring Break!!! Which means Spritz is going to come hang out in the house tank (my 20L) for a week! Any bets on how long the shrimp will last? I'm a little worried this will be the last sight some of them will see! 😱😂:
  23. I'm interested to know what it'll look like opened up!! How cool!!! Beautiful plants! 😆👍
  24. @Streetwise and @Jungle Fan - Plants are the besttttttt!!! 🌱
