  1. Moved my fish from quarintine to their permament setup. I had an angelfish in QT. I have never known angels to be jumpers, but that guy was jumping all of the place, he did not want to go in the net. And then today I relized that my guppys may have finrot so I moved some of those guys over to the QT. (how perfect is that the day the fish go out of QT, new ones come in)
  2. If your able to get into your office every week, I guess you could put an auto feeder and then do waterchanges if you were to visit every week. But I think I would agree with @Streetwise they are small enough to move with a bucket. you can even leave your tank at work just bring your cycled bacteria home to keep it alive. And then get a 10 gallon from petco (I beleive it would be 10bucks due to the dollar a gallon sale) and use that as a temperary setup.
  3. I love your Angelfish! I have never heard of angelfish to attack mystery snails. hmm... intersting. I would say to give it sometime like maybe a day. Angelfish don't like changes to their tank. I would keep an eye on the angelfish, as they will probably stop.
  4. I'm just doing a nano reef. No i'm not on reef2reef
  5. I'm 15. I don't have a fish room because I have to share a room with my twin. I also don't have a drivers licesnse so I can't go to the fish store whenever I want. In the summer I will bike, its about a 20minute bike ride but in the Winter it gets to -30C where I live so I go with my parents. I don't have a lot of room for all of the aquariums that I want. I also don't have a job yet so I'm on a strict budget with fish keeping. I'm considering breeding Angelfish to helo support my hobby.
  6. what are your water parameters? What fish died? It doesn't seem like it would be an "attack" because their all very peacful fish.
  7. it might be an issue. but you can use cycled filter media from one of your tanks and transfer it over to your one gallon and it would be fine.
  8. okay thanks! I will probably move them to my qt tank to see if the angelfish are the problem. will it go away by itself or should I add something to the water
  9. looks like black beard algae, amano shrimp may eat it but you may have to manually scrub it off, its a real pain
  10. Hey everyone my guppy that I got 2 weeks ago either has finrot or fin nipping. I spotted it a few days ago and it hasn't gotten worse so since then so maybe its not finrot here are my water paramerters PH 7.2 Nitrate - 10ppm Nitrie - 0ppm He has also been glass surfing lots, in case that helps. My other guppy has also been glass surfing lots, and may have fin rot too. My other question is, will a fish have fin rot and not show any symptoms?
  11. whenever I have time. Its usaully when the lights are on.
  12. its probably somekind of external parasite. I would try a ich medication.
  13. Have you tried LiveAquariu, ebay, aquabid
  14. You can't do neon tetras and angelfish because the angelfish will eat the neons tetras. but you could do cardinal tetras. And defentley do angelfish they are pretty, have a good temperment, and GREAT persanlity
  15. Hey, I'm looking to start breeding angelfish!! Here is what I plan for my setup to look like does this seems alright? 20 Gallon - Angelfish Pair to lay eggs (I will have two angel pairs) 10 Gallon - First week or two of frys life x2 40 Gallon - For the 3 week old angelfish (only one one of these but do you think I could divide the 40 in half to a 20 to support two different batches of fry?)
  16. They look like comet goldfish. I would try a 75 gallon. And now is the time to do so because there is a dollar a gallon sale at petsmart and petco.
  17. it could be fin rot. Do you have somewhere to put him a little more long term? like another empty aquarium? I would do regular waterchanges and use aquarium salt
  18. Your 10 Gallon may be bit overstocked and the snails will most likely create babies non stop. I wouldn't do the med trio until they start acting "wierd" like they may have an ilness. This is because lots of fish don't act well to meds when they don't have the desease. Some common symptoms of deseases are the following -Laying on bottom and not acctive -White spots -Not eating If you do see something up just send in a pic to the forum and then we can diagnose the deases and tell you what meds to use. You probably don't have any diseases because you have had them for 6 weeks. and if you haven't spot any wierd symptoms, then don't worry.
  19. Seachem prime won't fix any amonia problems. And you shouldn't worry about your tank getting uncycled. Because there is still the bacteria that keeps your aquarium cycled in your filter. So unless you get like a disenfectent and use that to clean your aquarium (DON'T DO THAT) you shouldn't worry. You have an amonia spike probably because your keeping 3 large goldfish in a 40 gallon. Thats severley overstocked, how big are your goldfish? The general rule of thumb is one fancy goldfish in a 30 gallon and then 2 in a 40, 3 in a 50 etc. For comet goldfish its one for a 75 Gallon. And the common goldfish get MASSIVE and they pretty much need a pond. Goldfish are very messy. So to fix depending on the size of your goldfish you may have to upgrade your tank or rehome most of them. How big are your goldfish? Do you know what kind the goldfish are?
  20. endlers would be fine in a 29. I would do a schooling fish though like a cardinal or neon tetra
