My betta really likes fluval bug bites and hikari betta bio gold. I would suggest for you to try those foods. I don't think I have ever heard of betta denying any hikari pellets or bug bites.

Went to a nearby river on my home from the LFS yesterday. I am very interested to see what kind of fish live in this river. Perhaps I'll set a trap up shortly.

I have upsidedown catfish with some cardinal tetras and zebra danios. The Upside down catfish will mind their own buisness and will often hide underneath the spongefilter or in their cave. During the night they will come out looking for food. I personally haven't witnessed any problems with upside down catfish and small tetras, and I think they would be fine with neon tetras. If you are planning to put the neon tetras and upside down catfish into your 125gallon, I would switch out the neon tetras for cardinal tetras. Cardinal tetras can tolerate the warm tempertures that discus would need.

Please note that we will be going off your own time zone for this. What we mean is that when its 12pm on Wednesday in the UK, All the submissions for those in the UK will be due. Even though in the US Central Time it will be 6am when UK Submissions are due. So US Central Time member will still have 6 hours to upload their submissions. Submitting If you wish to submit a photo please comply with the specific rules and specifications for each contest category. Each Category will have its own thread. @Flyingfishkeeper or I will specify the rules for each category upon posting of the thread. If your submission does not comply with the rules and specifications you will receive a private message to edit your post so that it does comply with the rules. If you have not fixed your mistake your submission will be deleted. To submit simply upload your picture simply reply to the thread with your chosen picture(s). For example you can use a solid black 2D background but not a 2D background that has an image. · Post your submission with one full tank shot, and an option of up to 3 other pictures. · Your aquarium must be currently setup, and must be yours! This can be your 3,000-gallon monster pond to your 5-gallon vase full of rice fish. I still yet to learn how to fish with a rod. Right now I am just using simple diy fish traps. fishing with rod is something I would love to pick up, but don't have anyone to necessarily teach me how to. Might just have to try youtube and teach my self. Great work, will be following along closely!

@Just Renee I would just leave it and monitor it. In a week you may see some leafs! Or you may be right and it is rotten, time will tell though.

My favorite part is that your not using any lights, only sun light. I assume your tank is very balanced considering the fact its not a green water mess. If I had space by a window I might do an aquarium there. Awesome tanks! Super fascinating!

A few things: Please update this thread as you go along your betta training There is this awesome kit on amazon called "betta school" or something like that. It has instructions to train the betta, and various toys for the betta to train with. I beleive theres a soccer net and it teaches you how to play soccer with your betta. Its a kit I've been wanting for a while but have never managed to buy it. Heres an aquarium that I chose the hardscape first. Then I chose the plants. All though after a month all the plants died (it was my first time keeping live plants and made many mistakes). So 3 months after all the plants died I decided to re-plant based on the hardscape: And heres what my betta tank looked like before I rescaped it. In this aquarium I chose the plants first. Well in my betta tank uneaten food isn't a very big amonia source mostly because hugo spends all day making sure there isn't any extra food.😅 But in most cases I would say and voted for uneaten food. Its sometimes hard to determine "should I put more food in...". I also feel like in a well balanced planted tank decaying plant matter shouldn't be a regular occurance. In the first few weeks of the aquarium when some plants are melting back sure, this might be the biggest source of amonia. This is a very interesting thread. Thanks for sharing @tonyjuliano

Have you had any breeding behaivor from some? It seems with the number of discus you have there must be a pair eventually.

@Biotope Biologist its defentley fun to see whats in the water local to you. I have thought about setting up some traps just to see whats local to me. Should be fun! @Fish Folk Defentley will do! Not sure how many I'll actually get, but it'll be fun either way.
