I'm planning on setting up a 29 gallon aquarium-moderately stocked, and I would like to know everybody's options-1 medium sponge filter or 2.

First Aquascape! Fertilizers???
Fishkeeper125 replied to Alan W's topic in Plants, Algae, and Fertilizers
The plants that are on your list are both water column feeders and root feeders. I advise you using root tabs and liquid fertilizer. Aquarium co-op sells both. I think easy carbon is used to limit algae growth in some situations. -
Wonder when we are going to have our meme stream. Can't wait!

New to the hobby and a couple questions
Fishkeeper125 replied to Shane's topic in Introductions & Greetings
I think you are good. The bio load is fish waste, and beneficial bacteria is all over your tank, so it shouldn't be a big issue. A bigger problem would be nitrate build up.- 8 replies

What are your pet peeves when it comes to other hobbyists?
Fishkeeper125 replied to ange's topic in General Discussion
My pet peeve is when a new hobbyist wants every type and color of fish. And when he can't wait for anything. -
I "feed" my quarantine tank with fish food, so my beneficial bacteria doesn't starve.
-
yeah, I agree with Yanni.

Nice. I gotta start record keeping.
-
I would use xtreme flakes and fluval bug bites.
-
I think it's more like 15-20 of one species or the other.

Thx for the info, I am also looking to set up a tank and planning on using sponge filters.
