  1. Ok it's in my 75 gallon and my quarantine has 4 sick rams in it from the same tank. She also is guarding eggs. Should I move her? Or treat her in place?
  2. Is this hole in the head? Or is it a ulcer? Treat with Maracyn?
  3. I was just assuming it was a led light. I find those are pretty decent.
  4. I use ich x and salt with the temp around 85.
  5. I to suffer from overfeeding. Is bbs considered a more accurate feeding style? I've really been wanting to start with bbs but I had both of my lowered legs/feet operated on back to back so money is tight atm. That being said high quality foods aren't exactly cheap either !
  6. Baby brine shrimp are magic fry growers. Setup a hatchery with a old bottle and air pump and a light.
  7. Well this may or may not be a viable work around but easy green and co2. Technically they aren't plants! Oh and root tabs for the sword.
  8. Well I think it really depends on how you look at it. Is it worth 5 dollars? No. However, will they get 5 dollars of enjoyment out of it? Maybe. I don't think it's really a good way doing business, but it's pretty standard marketing in today's world.
  9. @beaka as far as what I've read or seen in Cory's videos higher buffers in the water will make your ph fluctuate less. With that in mind running crushed coral all the time should see ur ph stay at steadish value. I have really hard water where I live and my pH changes between 7.2-7.6 through out the day.
  10. It seems to me that air compressor isn't intended to normally move larger volumes of air. Where as a linear air pump is designed to move more volume at a low psi. I also pondered this a few times, but started thinking the constant cycling of the compressor and the power draw made it inappropriate.
  11. Driftwood and other items lower PH slowly over time I have read. Depending on the buffers in your water I think this could add up over time. How often are you doing what changes? What is the water you are using to do the changes hardness?
  12. Witnessed the rainbow cichlids laying eggs! Decided someone might be interested in seeing as much as I am.
  13. I have let a few live in my tanks but they tend to get eaten over time, but at 33 cents per I like to watch em and my fish think they are tastey!
  14. They kinda resemble a ghost shrimp
  15. I have never heard of those shrimp. Are they native to NC? I wonder if I could get something cool up in the national park with permission not course
  16. I'll be placing my third order with the coop soon. Need more of the collection
  17. Bio film is pretty slick addition to any tank imo
  18. Id skip the pickling seasonings though 😉
  19. Cory I'm a builder by trade ill come help for room, board, tacos and some fish 🙂
  20. I think salt would be my go to if its not in a planted tank. Guppies are fairly prone to all kinds of illnesses most of which are cured with salt.
  21. I would find it incredibly useful if more sites where recommended by you. I live in east TN and have a few good fish options in the area but some of the more specific fish intend to want to get are either unavailable or super expensive here. None of the stores here treat fish preemptively all either don't quarantine or only have a monitoring period. I would live to have a online store thats cory approved in addition to aqua huna.
  22. I feel one important step is to slowly increase the fish over time. Each fish adds more load and the bacteria will have a lag time. I personally cycle my tanks from start with fish. I use 1-3 nano fish depending in the size of the tank and I just test the water almost daily and feed sparingly.
  23. I have never noticed my rabbit snails eating any healthy plant surfaces. Is it possible it was just cleaning the leaf or eating a bit of dead? I know algae will grow on the surface of plants.
  24. You are def correct on the 20ish nitrates. Nitrates aren't nearly as toxic as Ammonia or Nitrite. You have to have extreme amounts for it to really effect your fish. Ammonia and Nitrite even at 1ppm are very toxic to fish.
