Do they move if you touch them? If so they are Vorticella:

Water Sprite is native to India and Southeast Asia, as are Aponogetons and Cryptocoryne (SE Asia).

I collect and keep several kinds of native fishes. One of my favorites are pygmy sunfish. I have colony that is currently breeding: It is nice to see them in the wild and learn about what need by looking at their native environment. It is also nice to collect the native plants that they live in too.

That algae looks like cyanobacteria, also known as blue green algae. The Co-Op blog has good post on how to get rid of it. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/blue-green-algae?_pos=8&_sid=c9dd1186f&_ss=r

My first fish were guppies I got from a department store in 1969 and I kept them in quart jars. The miracle of guppy babies blew me away! Of course that led to getting an aquarium that I stocked with snazzy neon tetras.

I got tired on standing on the couch to drop food into the aquarium so I am very happy I can feed dry food on demand. Now if it could feed live food on demand.🙂

Despite giving you 4 posts below to worry about, don't worry about it. It is really uncommon for fish to be the hitchhikers. and and and And because this hobby is applied biology, there either are no rules, or the rules have so many exceptions that there might as well be no rules.

@Irene has this good video: Hat tip to @Maggie for locating this.

The forum has caused my aquariums to become neglected as my fish related hobby time has become forum-centric with less time devoted to actual fishkeeping. I have told wife that I can stop posting anytime I want, but she has been hinting at some sort of intervention or rehab.

I don't decontaminate new plants because they are unlikely carriers of fish diseases. But they are highly likely carriers of the things like snails, etc. Many people don't want snails or any new invertebrates coming in with new plants, although several posts recently have documented either fish eggs or actual baby fish coming in with new plants.

Saw this one yesterday: GDA - 'green dust algae'.

Yes, there is a constantly open gap. But if I feed everyday the contents of the feeder are gone in a week. If bugs were to get (which hasn't happened) it would more delicious bonus fishfood. 🙂

Many forum members swear by the Eheim. I chose the iLonda because you can voice control it with Alexa: But if I was only gone for 9 days, I probably wouldn't feed at all.

Daphnia cysts are just Daphnia eggs. Daphnia could consume a 2 liter bottle of green water in hours. Once they clear the green water, if more green water is not replaced immediately the Daphnia population will crash. It is not impossible to raise Daphnia in a small container, just extremely difficult.

I have never had an Aqueon tank leak. When Cory needed to buy aquariums for his new fishroom recently, he choose Aqueons.

The 2 obstacles that would keep it working for Daphnia are: No good inexpensive source for Daphnia cysts Daphnia need a steady supply of food like green water

The accurate to 0.2 °F is $63 on Amazon, the accurate to 1°F is $36 also on Amazon. I use the good one to calibrate my other temperature gauges.
-
Temperature gauges in order of expense: You can tell if the temperature in the mid 70s with your hand, 60s feel cool, and 80s feel warm, anything in between is 70s (priceless) This is accurate to plus or minus a couple of degrees($4.00 from the Co-Op) This Traceable Brand is NISTcertified and accurate to within 0.1 °F (less than $70)

Somehow after watching the clip above the YouTube algorithm suggests Richard Feynman explaining what 'why' means: As Emil says "I like it!" **Warning** Do not ask Richard Feynman 'why' you can't grow plants in your 60 gallon aquarium.🙂
