  1. Aw 😄 He just wanted some friyay night drinkies All week long he works in the pond swimming back and forth taking care of his family. He deserved some drinkies! @Guppysnail Froggins future boyfriend? 😝 That's a handsome boy!
  2. Could you please share the snail? And considering u meant "snails", I assume u hatched the eggs and now have babies? Do you have a picture of the eggs?
  3. When I visited my LFS, they seperated their killis from other tanks and said the killis were bullies. So they keep them alone even at the store
  4. I'm here to learn the name of that adorable fish Tell me!
  5. I have 2 angels and 3 black rams(1m:2f) in my 160 Liters tank (100cm x 40cm x 40cm). I have one platinum and one black veil angel which are both juveniles as of now. That is a risky combo I have to say. And you should be ready for a backup plan all alone just by keeping angel(s). Because in contrary to what their names tell, they are generally not really angelic :)) My friend's angels and rams grew up together and after months, angels decided to kill rams one night. Rams are territorial, especially the males. Mine have started to pair up lately and they always chase the other female away from their territory. They also don't really like the black angel being too close to their territory, but don't care that much about the platinum one. Same goes for honey gourami and most other fish too. They don't care those invading their territory. No clue how things will go when they all reach adulthood. I may also seperate the male and female in my fishroom and breed them there later on. Def not a combo I would try if I didn't have so many other tanks.
  6. You can always multiply them! Propagating anubias is very easy. Also would save you some money 🙂
  7. Cherry shrimp algae eating potential is,,, very low tho imo. I've kept 4 neocaridina colors until today mainly as cleanup crew and as a part of tank ecosystem, but I feel like they are not good at algae eating by any means. Cleaning up extra food? sure. Also I'm not sure if they would even breed in those temps, if they even survive.
  8. pretty pink color! Can it be Ludwigia arcuata or something? I've never kept silver dollars, my biggest tank is 42g. I'm more of a nano tank guy, so cannot comment on it really. But they are likely gonna destroy it. I remember reading some even trying to eat plastic plants 😄
  9. No, active substrates decrease the ph. However, caridina shrimp tanks aren't all about ph. Ph, gh, Kh, tds... They all matter. If you have a high kh, you will not be able to decrease your ph with active substrate really. In my tanks with active substrate with high kh, I barely read any decrease on ph tbf. What's your kh from the tap? Ideally you should have RO water for caridinas and remineralize it. They are picky about parameters very much
  10. Silver dollars with plants? I would take some cuttings from your other tanks and see how it goes before investing on anything. They may end up as a snack
  11. I don't think so. Maybe hungry smaller fish that swim in mid column that may randomly decide to snack on them. @Guppysnail do any of your fishies eat hydra? I have *luckily* no experience with hydra, but I have enough experience with cories to tell that I can't imagine them swimming to take down a hydra and eat it tbh.
  12. They are very cute. I had them ages ago. We call them "Sarı Prenses" which means Yellow/Blonde Princess in Turkey They are usually hardy, easy to breed, and beautiful. I'm biased as the color yellow is my fav on fish 😄 Go for it !
  13. Have you ever used copper based medicine, or anything that has copper? Are you sure your tap is free of copper? Have you ever seen fish harassing shrimp? For shrimp to make it in such community tanks, generally you should be expecting not to see most of the tanks due to heavy planting and covers. The tank seems pretty open and shrimp are likely be being harassed by the fish. Especially during their fragile times like molting period and following time. Babies, on the other hand, are almost certainly being eaten by any means. For how long did you drip acclimate your shrimp? Did they stress molt? Generally everything may seem okay at first after a stress molt but gradually it comes with its problems and deaths in the future. Have you been observing nice moltings left around? Or were they struggling to molt? Shrimp also need a dedicated diet and Bacter AE alone isn't enough imo. Neocaridinas eat much more than low ph friend caridinas. You can watch Marks Shrimp tanks videos and his feeding schedule for his neocaridinas. I personally use sera micron twice a week, complete shrimp food 1-2 times a week and bee pollen once a week.
  14. @Fish Folk @Guppysnail any ideas guys?
  15. Looks like a very good growth as I said. Don't you worry! If you have any questions, feel free to ask anytime, either here or in pms. Either me, or @Chick-In-Of-TheSea / @Guppysnail / @Cinnebuns. Team snails, we are reporting for duty! 😄 Hope your friends have a great life ahead. They look adorable. Cheers,
  16. You are doing well! That's a sign they are doing better under your care and in your tank. Nothing to worry about, the shell growth looks pretty healthy The blue color gets lighter again when it keeps growing. Just make sure it grows healthily, which already seems like it is! Here is my Rick when I got him and when he reached adulthood for reference: You can see from where he started to grow his shell on my tank: His shell color when he grew up
  17. Could be nice if you had ammonia test on hand. Do you have any? Did you cycle the tank? How long has it been running? Shrimp bioload is very minimal but you don't have many plants to read 0 nitrates enough imo. At least from cycling period or after dosing ferts, if you ever did, I believe you should be reading at least some nitrates. Shrimp spending time on floating plants happens from time to time. However if they spend lots of time near surface, it can be water parameter issues or oxygen problems. That sponge filter seems small for that tank size imo. I believe it is good that you ordered bigger ones as well. Also I have no clue what bio clear packet is so don't wanna lead you wrong. Never heard of them before.
