  1. Welcome to the forum and the hobby! Your tanks look great. Love those plants. Thank you for your service and happy Veteran's Day tomorrow.
  2. Welcome! I'll echo the compliments of others, looks great! I'm also with Irene, a background would be a good boost, but it looks like you've got that in the works. Would love to see a follow up picture once you have it installed.
  3. Welcome! There's a saying that comes to mind. Better to ask forgiveness than permission! 😄
  4. Welcome! That's a cool "origin story." Do they come to your hotel? I'd assume it would just get more fun to host them when you're active in the hobby.
  5. I'd recommend you move this to the plants section of the forum. This is the "meet and greet" section so you might not get a lot of feedback.
  6. Looks like you're having no problem diving back in. Welcome!
  7. Corporate purchasing for a fencing wholesaler/manufacturer. Do a good deal of spending on my own and provide oversight for other spending throughout the company.
  8. Finally got the 55g moved from the old house to the new. The scape is a disaster but I'm glad to have the last of the fish here so I can take better care of them. Everything went as smoothly as it could have. Will start rescaping tomorrow once all the fish are settled back down. Also tore down the Gladiator rack so I can set it up at the new place and get these 10g tanks off the counters.
  9. I have a Nikon D3300, cheaper DSLR we bought just for pics of the family and for some side business we do. Specs as follows... 24.2 MP CMOS DX-format sensor 5 frames per second continuous shooting Ultra-compact 3x zoom lens made exclusively for use with Nikon Digital SLR models 1080 (60, 50, 30, 25, 24 fps) HD video (MPEG-4/H.264/MOV) 18-55mm lens with f3.5-5.6 maximum aperture for Nikon DSLR cameras It definitely takes decent photos. I've never messed around with video much. I'm sure I could put it to use, maybe with a lens upgrade. Just thinking the phone is incredibly convenient and always with me so it would be handy to get something that works well on the fly as a backup of sorts or when I'm not looking for prime pics/footage.
  10. My phone is a few years old and was on the cheap end when it came out. It's not working very well these days, so it needs an upgrade in that regard. If you're referring to the camera end, then I get you. I will check out the Method stuff though. Unrelated, I used to do a ton of business with a man from Utah in the fence industry. Any chance you have a crazy uncle Mark?
  11. Time to upgrade my phone and looking at options for best photo/video. Thinking about aquariums and YouTube. Want to stick with Android. Google's Pixel devices seem to be strong on the photography end. Not sure on video. Any thoughts? @Cory? @JimmyGimbal?
  12. Came home from work and upgraded our chicken run from 400 sq ft to 1000 sq ft. Should have some happy girls tomorrow!
  13. @Lynze I think @Cory has a bunch of them in the warehouse for dry goods and plants.
  14. I've got a Gladiator rack from Lowe's I'll be using. Up to 4 shelves, all adjustable, and each shelf holds up to 2,000 lbs. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Gladiator-24-in-D-x-77-in-W-x-72-in-H-4-Tier-Steel-Freestanding-Shelving-Unit-NSF-Safety-Listing/1000003004
  15. John and Lisa @ KG Tropicals just reintroduced a fish that had been bullied. Part of their solution was to introduce other new fish at the same time. If you have room for that, worth checking maybe. Video just posted within the last week or so.
  16. Thus far I've just used small plastic containers, but the idea of using silicone molds is appealing for sure. Thanks for the ideas! I'll have to try something new.
  17. I'd love to set something up, but I feel like that's something you're going to need to build for from the beginning. Gotta have a place for that water to go, and a lot of homes are just not suited installing the needed drains after the fact.
  18. Right now my breeding consists mutt guppies, bristlenose plecos, and cherry barbs. All things that pretty much take care of themselves. As far as fish I want to breed (and I'll start working through the list once the new fish room is set up)... German Blue Rams Nicer Guppy Lines Shrimp Rainbows Corydoras Apistos Bettas More Pleco Varieties Etc. Time will tell which ones actually make it into the fish room, but I'm looking forward to it. Best of luck!
  19. Welcome! Fish look great! GBRs are on my short list for next breeding projects.
  20. Welcome! Definitely give the cherries some places to hide. There are shrimp caves at the coop that I want to try next time I get shrimp. Cholla wood is also good. And something like mosses or guppy grass will give them good cover and make for a healthier aquarium. Best of luck!
  21. Welcome to the forum and to the hobby! Great to see you're doing your homework before you get started. As others have said, the stocking list you have is too much for the tank. Looks like you're understanding of that, so you're off to a great start. Also be aware that Chinese algae eaters grow larger and can be jerks. You'd be better off with siamese algae eaters, flying foxs, otocinclus or a bristlenose pleco. You'll find in this community a wealth of information. Look forward to interacting with you and seeing what you come up with!
  22. Welcome! Nice to see your furry friends. I'm always interested in knowing what other pets folks keep. We have 4 Australian Shepherds, 2 cats, and a couple dozen chickens. Calves and piglets hopefully coming within the next few months.
