Thanks, Roy. Before doing anything, I will start by taking a look at the new leaves to see what the status is. Will post a photo if I can get a decent one. I'm a little scared of iron because I have a bunch of mystery snails, and iron is metal, and metal is bad for snails? I'm quite fond of them. Some I have hatched and raised from babies. Also dechlorinators remove heavy metals; would they not remove the iron if I did add some? (I use Prime). Thanks, Patrick. I did try this once on this plant, but it didn't loosen the algae so that I could remove it. I'm not sure it had any effect on this stuff. I suppose I could try it again. It's easy & cheap enough to do. The last soak was an overnight soak. -

I never know. lol Definitely, she returns to that water sprite again and again. The male is the one hiding in the shadows. I think what you're seeing is a space under her tail and the co op sponge filter tube. 🙂- 1,895 replies

It does not. The algae is super attached. I tried scratching it with my fingernail with no luck. The mystery snails have been trying to remove it also but they have not been able to. -

My snail kids love cabbage so much! They are not a fan of broccoli or spinach either. And I don't think they were big on lettuce. York will eat the asparagus and the broccoli. No one else does. Except my ram Snoopy. He eats the asparagus.- 2,923 replies

Very nice! I crochet. Can't say I'm good at it. But I like it. LOL
-
I tried it a couple times! It is tricky! And I recall the stretching - you stretch every finger, your wrists, everything! I liked the music. I was not too coordinated for it, but it was just an exercise class, so everybody else was kind of in the same boat. 🙂 Trust me, it will come right back to you. Fun belting out some good ol' JP Sousa. Octopus would be a cool balloon animal. @PineSong

I should also note, that very dark green stuff on the leaves is a type of algae that does not scrub off; I tried. That's right @Aiden Carter - Snoopy always manages to get into the pic somehow! -

Will provide pic when I get home this evening, Roy! ammonia-0, nitrite-0, nitrate-30, pH-7.5, kH-80, gH-180 -
Any idea why? I use Easy Green and potassium, and a Hygger light. Nitrates are usually around 30.

Huh. Geppetto likes the Xtreme Betta Pellets. He also like Top Fin betta pellets, which came with him when I adopted him. He likes frozen bloodworms and daphnia. I give him the bloodworms one at a time with aquascaping tongs. He is not too good at seeing the daphnia or the frozen brine shrimp though. The frozen brine usually fall to the bottom, but the daphnia floats for a good while and he eventually does find that. Also I dropped in a small chunk of algae wafer for the snail and Geppetto ate it. 🙄 A lot of people feed Bug Bites to their betta. I believe @xXInkedPhoenixX feeds Ocean Nutrition betta pellets.

CONGRATULATIONS! Baby snails!!! The baby snails should be in the water. The clutch should be crumbled into tank water since snails already hatched. Do it in a breeder box, specimen container or a Tupperware container with tank water in it first just in case , because If the clutch was submerged in water the snails may have drowned. This is common for clutches that are laid on the glass and fall off. Observe for movement and add the snails to your tank if living. If your baby snails are in the established tank there should be biofilm for them to eat on the walls and surfaces and you can supplement with the powdered Repashy or the foods @Guppysnail mentioned above.- 2,923 replies

If you ever wanna do something fun you go into Walmart and you go to the hardware section and suction a toilet plunger to the floor. Trust me it’s almost impossible to get it off the floor once it’s stuck there. Then you go in the next aisle, circle back, and casually stroll by and discreetly glance down plunger aisle while pushing your cart and browsing items, to see what unsuspecting victim or employee is struggling to detach the thing. Not that I’ve ever done this.. Naw.. Who would ever..? 😇

I do want to chime in and say, do be careful with baking soda dosing, as baking soda is a means of fish euthanasia. It is an alternative to clove oil. I have successfully used baking soda to put down a suffering fish.

I play a few instruments. Flute, baritone horn (euphonium), guitar. A secondary talent would be the ability to make a weedwhacker sound using just my mouth. TOP THAT! 😆🤡

Does a Quarantine Tank Need to Be Cycled?
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to OfficialThomas's topic in General Discussion
Bottled bacteria is a nice option if it's an emergency setup. How do you guys keep your QT tanks cycled after the last fish has vacated? I empty/disinfect mine and then I put the sponge filter back into an established tank and just leave it there. Prime Time leaves snails in his QT tanks when there are no fish in them, and he feeds the snails, and that keeps his tanks cycled. -
