    Maybe some coarse sponge or floss? I like the ideas above of moss or plant sprigs as well. I like to set a bucket inside a box.

    @Bev C I love furcatas. I hope to have some someday. I’m sorry about your losses of the snails. It sounds like the white snail died of heartbreak. The new babies are very sensitive. It’s common to have losses when they are new.

    Eat your heart out Ariel! ——————- Finally. **FINALLY!** Kratos has left the glass. Yesterday he was eating catappa leaf. Overnight he started on the yummy rocks. First one cleaned, and he’s started on the next one. The way the algae settled on those rocks looked pretty cool; intentional even. But it just happened that way because of proximity to the light.

    Lav from Lav’s snails gets this to work with silicone molds but she really really loads up the Knox. Maybe 5-6 Tbsp. I only used 4 Tbsp because I bought one box and there are just 4 packets in a box.

    Sliced up the sheets of Snello into cubes. (The ones in the silicone molds didn’t work out. I can use them but they won’t come out in one piece or look cute. Same thing I experienced last time I made snello with fresh veg. I can only get the silicone molds to work with Repashy.)

    If you’re boiling other vegetables anyway frozen green beans are fine, just trim the stems off before you put them in the processor. Also when I mix the gelatin I use the water that I boiled the veggies in, instead of just regular water. More flavor that way 🙂

    @TeeJay make sure the canned green beans contain no salt. Canned green beans really get them interested in the treats. 😉

    Lifewithpetsgci.com I heard crayfish empire also has it. Heard they offer it free, you just pay shipping? You can also powder eggshells up. I did that last time. I baked the shells a little bit first to kill bacteria

    I freeze it. Once I slice it I try to freeze it such that the cubes don’t touch each other. Once they are frozen, I put them in a big ziplock. Frozen cubes can be dropped right in the tank and they thaw quickly.

    I got up this Christmas morning and cooked a special Snello recipe for my snail and shrimp friends. For the most part, I raided the freezer where I’ve been stashing random veggies just for this purpose. Boiling. Pureeing, then adding bloodworms. Adding calcium carbonate. Serving!

    So Erin adopted one of my mystery snail babies, as well as one magenta snail (she begged me). Anyway, yesterday “Goldie” was caught in the act of egg laying! I’m surprised because the snail is not even that old. She captured this footage.
