  1. I usually see cholla wood in the reptile section. Think that’s ok for underwater use?
  2. I use 3 T. Repashy, 2 T. calcium carbonate, and I follow the Repashy bottle for the water amount. I just make it in something like a coffee mug. Set timer 20 minutes, then turn it out and cut it into cubes. I have used molds for the Knox gelatin recipe, but haven't tried molds for Repashy because with Repashy my batches are small. @TeeJay has used molds with repashy for his corydoras, I believe. I boil it until a fork slides into the carrot with minimal effort. Then I take it out of the water and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. Purple carrots are ok.
  3. I have blue dream shrimp @ 75 degrees F. @TeeJay, @Minanora and @Guppysnail also have shrimp.
  4. Have not tried this but I found these 2 instructional videos. If anyone wants to weigh in as to whether or not they've tried this and what the results were, please do. (?) I'm not saying it's a good idea or not; I'm just sharing what I found and you can decide.
  5. My dad used to have a red-tailed shark. It was a juvenile in a 10g. I must have been, sheesh, probably 6 years old then. I think it grew some and my dad gave it to a friend who had a larger tank. @PineSong I want to put this on a loop and just let it play on my TV all day. Your plants look amazing. Clearly the angel is the boss, and I bet she'd eat guppy fry so you wouldn't have to worry.
  6. In the morning I find my betta resting on the anubias leaf. I put the plant in there temporarily but now it’s his bed, so it stays. 🙂
  7. Do it! Or PVC pipe (not as pretty). It’s her 10 year anniversary of adoption!
  8. I like to use Soilent Green Repashy. The first ingredient is spirulina. It has high protein as well.
  9. I like this @TOtrees. I'm going to try it out w/ the calcium carbonate powder. Thanks for sharing!
  10. Is Grace nocturnal @nabokovfan87? When/what does she eat?
  11. That third guy in the thumbnail is Gordon Ramsay. 🥩🥙🍞🍗
  12. 🎼 Snails all over the world 🌎 Join shells 🎵 🎶 Start a love train, love train Snails all over the world 🐌🐌 🐌 Join shells 🐚 🐚 🐚 Start a love train, love train ❤️
  13. I was not able to get duckweed to take off w/ mystery snails in the tank. They'd use the duckweed as parachutes to get to the bottom of the tank.
  14. I finally dismanted the QT tote. Extra sponges are always going in established tanks, so I can do an instant setup of it again anyway. Might just get an actual 10g for the future because it's easier to see through glass to check on patients. Roy and friends are doing well. There is harmony in the tank. No regression, no bullying, no other fish affected. This is a success story. It took time and money (meds) but it was worth it to save this little life. I was on a livestream the other day (not ACO) and someone asked, what do you do if a fish gets columnaris? The speaker said, flush 'em. (First off, we don't flush fish anymore. That was old school, and we have since learned the chlorine in the toilet causes a painful death, but also we don't want fish diseases in our waterways. Fish that have passed can provide fertilization to our flower gardens outside. ANYWAY...) I quickly chimed in to say that columnaris is treatable. 🙂
  15. Does anyone else think this guy looks like the sandworm from Beetlejuice? 😄
  16. It's a matter of personal preference, really. I like to provide more natural foods for my creatures. ie: I can give hot dogs to a dog every day and they have protein the dog needs, and the dog really likes them, but I don't feel it's the best I can do for my pet long term. If these are similar in price, why not go for these instead of a medication made for humans?
  17. That’s ok, it slowly releases calcium into the water for him. easiest Snello = Repashy + calcium carbonate cheaper = Repashy + powdered eggshells
