  1. Your tank is gorgeous~ I want to keep discus now more than ever 😭 Especially with that nice shoal size and awesome scape!
  2. So pretty! How is it “planted” if at all?
  3. I found my favorite snails from co-op plants. I love “pest” snails so much! 🐌
  4. Gorgeous tank! Also “plat fatties” is an amazing term. 😆 I can’t wait to see what else you have.
  5. Is that rosemary in the hob? Awesome setup. I can’t wait to see your goldies in there!
  6. I think this is what happens when shrimp flesh “dies.” It has something to do with the protein chains breaking down. So I don’t know what happened, but shrimp (and lobsters etc) always turn pink when they die.
  7. I’ll be working but as always, I’m excited to watch it back later. I’m expecting a full QVC style pitch for the new items. 🤓
  8. Thank you guys, I think I’m gonna wait to see if a deal comes by on Craigslist. Or maybe I will just wait for the next dollar per gallon and get a 55. 🤑
  9. Where did you end up finding the 53? I don’t think I’ve seen one sold around my area...
  10. Thank you Taylor, I didn’t know this size existed!
  11. What size is the hospital tank? Keep in mind I’ve never owned a betta but this is what I personally would do. I would keep him in the hospital tank but bring down that PH; 8.2 seems really high for a betta... throw in an almond leaf, or roobios tea, etc... I would keep a close eye on ammonia and nitrates while it finishes cycling and continue to treat with salt. I’d cut down on feeding and keep up with water changes until the cycle is complete.
  12. It’s hard to pick favorites, so I’ll go with my top 3 most used... Hikari crab cuisine - It’s not the best crustacean food, but it’s cheap, easily accessible, and good quality compared to the price. I primarily feed this to snails and shrimp, but the guppies and goldfish love it too. I normally use a mortar and pestle to grind it up. Aquarium co-op easy fry and small fish food - It’s in the name! Good quality ingredients as well and 99% of my fish love it. Fluval tropical bug bites (small) - just a good food most of my fish will eat and it’s small enough for nano fish/fry.
  13. Hey all, I’ve been considering getting a single angelfish. Which tank size would be better, a 29 or 40 breeder? I know that more water is usually ideal, but a 29 has more height.
  14. Nice work, that sand is beautiful. And it reminds me of the substrate in the BHG illustration! 😀
  15. Awesome tanks, David! Please share pics when you upgrade your 10 gal 🤩 Welcome to the forum!
  16. Your tanks are lovely. I love what you’ve done to maximize your space! Welcome to the forum 😎
  17. Always gotta love a well planted guppy tank 👍 Welcome!
  18. Cool setups! Are there zebra danios with your goldfish? It will be fun to have someone from a big box pet store here. Welcome!

    Hi

Hi AJE, I’ve seen you around other forums and I’m excited you’re here. Welcome!
  20. My Bacopa Caroliniana once turned a little red because I overdosed the iron and I imagine it’s the same way with other fast growing stem plants. I backed off on the dosage and haven’t had any other problems with non-red plants.
  21. I second the trumpet snails. They accidentally ended up in my flowerhorn tank and now I can’t imagine not having them. Any uneaten food or crumbs are gone by the end of the day. I think they break down the fish waste well, too.
  22. Added some neo shrimp to my 6 gallon! I bought bloody marys, red/blue rilis, and black sakuras 🦐
  23. Since there are so many, they may be out-competing each other for the minerals. I see you have plants too, which can take up more minerals than you would expect. I love my rams horns too, they are so cute 🙂 whenever I see white shells or pitting I throw in an extra wonder shell. They also get crushed up crab cuisine/shrimp pellets from time to time. Do your snails eat foods with calcium?
  24. If it’s sprouting then it’s probably already facing the right way. The sprouts go up.
