  1. Depends on how it was wedged but I would leave that guy high n dry, it'll give in and flop into the water before it is harmed. If it can't do that then I would periodically mist it to keep it wet so it could still breathe until the tank is refilled.
  2. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4741686 And there it is.
  3. I would look into aragonite, it's similar to crushed coral but sold as a sand sized substrate.
  4. Keep the media wet and also keep it oxygenated. If it sits too long with out oxygen transfer if could die off even when wet. Maybe run a bubbler or just don't let it sit stagnant for too long. (I don't know exactly "how long too long is" maybe a few hours, all depends on the small details)
  5. Depends on what you mean by efficient, are you looking for the most even heating in the tank or just the pure least amount of energy used?
  6. I don't know but for comparison I've run those 90gram prefilled ones at about that rate maybe a little less and IIRC they lasted about a month.
  7. Maybe... the general rule is not to mix macro nutrients with micro nutrients but there are some exceptions if your recipe is right. Without knowing specifics we can't tell you either way.
  8. Same here, on PC and android. TY! Hoping Dark Care 1.1 is coming too.
  9. I only see Care 1.1 and ACO 1.1 as options atm using firefox.

  11. I figured a cap big enough to do anything meaningful would change the form factor quite a bit. I was thinking a cap big enough to wake up the power bank and hopefully it stays on once the cap stops drawing power, or maybe it would create a situation where the bank would shutoff, the cap drains into the motor or resistor, then the bank restarts. Power supplies can be so all over the place in specs and quality, at least in my experience. Might be worth a test, I'm open to being wrong here though.
  12. I wonder if anyone has tried to replace the resistor with a big enough cap or just put a cap in series to get the best of both worlds. May test myself.
  13. Sunlight is just so powerful, if you aren't ready for it it can take you by surprise. My guess is the average plantless tank gets hit with some sunlight and algae explodes giving sunlight a bad rap, then that gets parroted a bit. I love natural sunlight on my tanks, plants love it, nothing else comes close, and it doesn't have to cause algae with the right tank balance.
  14. All hands on deck! Meme thread must stay FP until the meme stream!
  15. Aquarium tweezers and a Lees specimen container are both tools I think anyone would be glad to have whichever way they decide to setup their tank. And I would include a usb nano air pump too with tubing and air stone, aeration is king.
  16. Come on Dean give us a hint, is it a granulated product... is it the sieve we've all been looking for?
  17. The Co-op has a pretty nice light guide that may help. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/pages/led-aquarium-lighting And in their plants section you can sort by light requirement.
  18. I assume there won't be live bacteria on dry wood but possibly spores or cysts, Would be hard to nail down what temp and for how long to destroy them, but steaming instead of boiling may help you keep in the tannins, better yet use a instapot or pressure cooker and don't submerge the wood. Not things I have tried just my thoughts/ideas on it. GL
  19. I'm no pro on this topic but in my experience if paint fumes harmed fish then mine would all be dead.
  20. How Cory does it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3osdgb7BGw The sieve you need is a 0.1mm mesh, but in a pinch you can use a paper towel to drain the salt water away while keeping the BBS behind.
