Where to get daphnia in Seattle in Dec?
TheDukeAnumber1 replied to hoihoi8's topic in General Discussion
Whenever I've wanted daphnia I go to a nearby pond or creek, find a spot on the edge of the water that has leaf litter or organic litter ect. and just dig in and take a big scoop with a jar. I am not in seattle but this has worked for me wherever I've been even in the cold times of year. -

@Richard IMO nothing is as good a live BBS, but as an alternative to live it's about as good as anything else.- 99 replies

Aquarium Co-op new Brine Shrimp Eggs!
TheDukeAnumber1 replied to Dean’s Fishroom's topic in General Discussion
@Richard They are dead. Newly hatched then preserved in the bottle, you feed out as needed and have to refrigerate after opening.- 99 replies

12-30-2019 I had enough of the staghorn battle and removed the wood and put in a 'monolith' looking stone. I took this opportunity to take out the white clouds, for several months I wanted to keep heterandria formosa and decided to pull the trigger on the idea and order some

12-22-2019 The vallisneria keeps marching on and the dwarf sagittaria is gaining speed. I moved the anubias nana "petite" to a piece of cholla wood in a last attempt to remove enough staghorn algae from the wood in an effort to make it more manageable.

Thanks, I aspire to make a desktop humidor with automated humidity and temperature controls, and to also built an aquarium monitor that will log data, but atm I'm back to learing coding.

11-29-2019 Things were really starting to take form, unfortunately I really started to have issues keeping staghorn aglae under control on the wood. I impulse purchased a smokey pleco but I sadly quickly found out it did not like my water. This was the peak of the tank with the wood.

11-15-2019 It was time to replant the vallisneria. I also ordered (2) dwarf sagittaria plants and planted them in the front. The goal was to have a val wall in back and a dsag carpet in front.

10-27-2019 More vallisneria growth, it is coming close to time to disturb everything and replant them.

10-12-2019 More noticable vallisneria growth and runners. A molly passed and team snail managed to strip it to bones in 24 hours. This is when I started using filters on my photos.

10-5-2019 The vallisneria has been making great progress growing and making runners. On select weekends I open the adjacent window and let sunlight hit the tank for a few hours. Fish have a hidden beauty that only the sun can unlock, also the val loved it. The anubias nana "petite" had grabbed onto the wood just enough for me to remove the twine.
