  1. I'd try some rice fish in that big pond, perhaps you can place a lilly or two away from the edges, the rice fish can lay their eggs there and maybe some babies will be smart enough to stay near the plant.
  2. Hello everyone, Unfortunately we don't ship live fish. Our stock lists are for our retail store customers. They are posted once when the shipment comes in and not updated after that. If you're looking to purchase live fish and live outside of Washington state, you can get more information from our web page on sources to buy fish. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/pages/live-fish
  3. I have moved this to the general section.
  4. At this time we have no plans to have other vendors post their stock lists on our website. This should be accomplished through their own website.
  5. We won't be posting plant lists, our website is up to date with that information. As for number remaining, and such we won't be doing that either. That is a full time job. It only leads to angry customers. You could hear we have 500 cardinal tetras on Friday, come in Saturday and we are sold out. The amount sold in store can be very quick and often is. We are a small retail store with a large presence now. We don't want to get away from the small store serving our local community however. I can however make a pinned post about how we don't ship fish as that seems logical and is a one time fix.
  6. For now no. I'd say for sure not stuff you're selling. That's essentially the same as posting it for sale here. Over the coming weeks we will have a white list of links that can be posted. Aquabid will be on the white list, as would companies we work with and other places that don't have a negative impact on our business. However our direct competitors links won't be allowed. It just doesn't make sense to have people talking about our competitors even if it's negatively about them. Aquabid links would be fine if you're saying, I am about to buy this auction, does anyone have any tips for breeding or keeping this fish etc. There will always be grey areas, Like the dollar per gallon sale, linking to that would be fine, but linking to them selling a food we sell at say 50% off, just straight up hurts us. Whether they are clearancing it out, or just have a price mistake, it also changes what this forum is about, we don't want 20 posts a day about what is on sale, instead of conversation. People can use deal websites and such or even just follow other youtubers for such information. The ongoing cost of running this forum is going to be quite high and thus we need to make sure we aren't investing a lot of time, energy and money into something that goes against our goals in both community and our business.
  7. Congrats! I just gotta get mine to watch everyone elses so they learn how to breed.
  8. It's forever on my "todo list" but I haven't done any jars.

I'm not even a horse person, but horses in the water seem like a ton of fun, they look happy.
  10. Currently we don't plan on allowing buy/sell/trade. A list of some of the reason, and I'm sure there are more. Aquarium Co-Op's liability in such matters. Competing against Aquarium Co-Op's Bottom Line. When something goes wrong with a transaction, that'll lead to drama We want people to be here to help each other not set up shop. In previous communities this always happen, people who are there solely for business instead of the bigger picture. Making sure personal data is protected I'm sure there are other cons, as well as pros. There are places to sell things online already such as aquabid or ebay, I believe it's better for us to focus on one area to improve on at a time and that will be a friendly community.
  11. These aren't currently from Greg Sage, there are quite a few sources for these fish these days.
  12. They'll only be a summer type project here. The good news is, to start it back up after winter is easy, just put some more eggs in.
  13. The new lights I put in, are a lot more bright, I have to take like a bucket full out every 2 weeks from the ponds, grows in so thick it's actually a problem lol.
  14. Thats worth a test for sure, also if we can document it well enough perhaps Uk fish keepers can have a go too med as I struggle to help those outside of the USA due to different meds.
  15. Yeah, what i read is, I opened my fridge and a bunch of candy bars fell out and I ate them. Seems like a bonus to me 😉
  16. I find that those trying hardest to breed, have the most problems. Myself included. I find if I move onto different projects, even different breeding projects, usually I have more success. Time is a big factor. I don't look at something as a failure till it's been at least a year in my care. Other things I found to up my odds. Using live baby brine shrimp, this seems to double the odds I'm successful of breeding any fish. Both fish you have would go nuts for it.
  17. I'd say the journal/photo is the place for it now. It can create problems when there are too many categories for a forum when it's new, if the DIY area becomes a big recurring theme, we can always sort em into their own category later. For now, the fewer categories the more things will be seen and appreciated.
  18. I haven't seen any yet, but I haven't caught them and put them into a container to do any sorting either.
  19. I do, not as much as much anymore as it's my job. However one of my favorite things is to turn of all the lights in my fish room besides one tank, and sit and watch it. Eventually I fall asleep and wake up at like 2am, then go crawl into bed. My fish room is warm and lots of white noise.
  20. Nice, I wish I had the patience for Frontosas. Some day I'll do them again.
  21. A great example of a introduction thread. I wouldn't have known you were a photographer. I suppose we'll expect to see some fish photos down the road 😉
  22. The tank with the shimmer on the table probably makes a great night light.
  23. Nice, I'd love to see a setup of the greenhouse. My wife and I are huge fans of watering things from our ponds.
  24. Ooh, I like the cholla wood forest. Looks great.
