  1. Ghost shrimp are pretty easy to keep and won't bother your snails.. at least mine didn't. They aren't picky eaters either...
  2. Welcome to the forum, love the low tanks!
  3. Awesome work everyone! I love these, keep em coming! I don't have anything to contribute but encouragement 🙂
  4. Welcome to the forum, that's a beautiful Betta! This is the place to be if you have questions or want feedback, great group of people on here!
  5. If I had the room, I'd do another Oscar tank. I'd go bigger than the 100g I had last time though. Really give the fish some room to move around.
  6. It really depends on the Oscar.. Mine was ok with plastic plants until he got about 10 to 12 inches, then he pretty much destroyed them. His favorite hobby was excavating one half of the tank to move a small colored rock around and rebury it.. Anything small enough for him to physically move got knocked over, dismembered, or buried.
  7. It took my jungle val almost 6 months to start noticeably growing... then, boom it took over...
  8. As others have said, Nerites for workhorse cleanup duty & Mystery snails for pure entertainment 🙂 I have a rabbit snail I got a couple months ago but I rarely see him, so hard to say how much I like him 🤨
  9. I also use a few young, bullet proof guppies as my entry fish. My guppy stock all started as a trio from petsmart in 2019. Generations later, they are still trucking...
  10. Once again, thanks for keeping these journal updates going!
  11. I wouldn't rush. If you can get some extra sponge filters running in an existing tank for a week or so, then start "seeding" your new tanks with those. Sounds like you already have some plants and hardscape from a seasoned tank, so that'll help. Once those first few tanks have cycled, use those to do the same for the rest of your new tanks. Can't wait to see pictures!
  12. Wow, great progress so far. I really like the overhead sump!
  13. @Ken They are awesome, polite little fish. Mine seem to shoal better now that I've doubled the school size. I should have 16 or 17 in there now, a couple of the last batch are pretty small and tend to stay in the ouskirts. I think the white clouds intimidate them due to their size.
  14. Wow, I just looked those up, those are awesome looking corys. Post pictures after they settle in.
  15. Could be limpets, hard to tell from the image. Do they move like a snail?
  16. @Beardedbillygoat1975 Thanks, that chili tank is probably my favorite small one. I took 4 yellows from the Skittles (75) tank when I started the 20 long in the spring. I had only a few culls in the beginning, and now there's probably 50+ shrimp in there, all yellow. The chilis were hiding all the time in the 55. I only had kubotais in there with them, but they like being in their own space.
  17. ok, got some lights on the other tanks.... 10 gallon with cpds and my "green" neo experiment 55 with young congos, laser cories, and a boatload of guppy fry and females 10 gallon with male guppies and some fry as well as my blue/blue rili neos 20 gallon with my chilis and yellow neos The funky camera angles are an attempt to reduce window glare/reflection...
  18. I was hoping the white clouds would spawn but they have been slacking off. I'm starting a daphnia culture, so hopefully the live food will get them going. It has worked for the danios and emperors
  19. The timer turned off in other room, but the lights were still on in the 75 and 55 in the "plant" room 🙂 The 75 has white clouds, Kubotai rasboras, otos, and a boatload of neo culls. The 55 has emperor tetras including a couple of fry, glowwight danios, a female dwarf gourami, and otos as well as red neos
  20. Nice, and congrats! what kind of cories?
  21. If you are talking about the yellowish area behind the head, those are eggs. If you hadn't heard the term before, it's called "saddled". Next time she molts if there's males in there, the eggs will get fertilized when she moves them to her tail. Then she'll carry them around for about a month (give or take a week) until they hatch.
  22. Love how that stand turned out! Looking forward to updates as you go.
