Heh, I think I might be able to sneak one in on the plant table I'm working on for the missus 🙂

Nice looking tanks! I'm starting to see the appeal of the little rimless setups...

Welcome to the forum! Love the space in that tank, more room for plants 🙂 -

I second the cholla wood suggestion. You can also very easily thread or poke some java moss in it and have plenty of hiding area for shrimp fry.

Welcome to the forum! What kind of fish do you plan on getting if any?

Beautiful tanks! I've been eyeballing the orange for over a year now, just need to get a tank set up for them. I finally got some green babaulti but didn't plan very well, and... they ended up in my yellow shrimp tank. You can imagine the difficulties I'm going to have when I try to move them over to my CPD tank. Sorry to hear about your new shrimp, how's the treatment going so far?

Wow, nice progress! The more I look at journals like this, the more I start eyeballing some unused space in my shop.... Who am I kidding, I don't have any unused space in there. 🙂

hang on back filters with pre filter sponges?
Griznatch replied to -blake-'s topic in General Discussion
It's extra filtration and the fish will enjoy picking bit out of it. If you ever get shrimp in the future, it'll also keep them from getting sucked into your HOB.- 23 replies

Where do you sell or giveaway your baby fish
Griznatch replied to Samanthabea's topic in General Discussion
I usually try fish store for credit. sometimes they just don't have room or spare tanks to take them. As was mentioned you could get a fish small enough to fit in that tank that would eat the fry. 6.5 gallons kind of limits your options. Not sure of your space limitations but if you can get in on one of PetCo's dollar a gallon sales a 10 gallon is cheap, could get away with just a bubble and or sponge filter. Molly and swordtail fry are pretty tough, so unless your house gets really cold a heater is probably not needed. -

So sorry about Ida, water damage is no joke. Hopefully it calms down, doesn't get any worse, and you can pump it out.

Welcome to the forum, what tank/tanks do you have?

Neos would work great in that tank.

You want inspiration for a planted tank?
Griznatch replied to Jeff's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
Wow, ok someone needs to go in and edit all the images online for descriptions of heavily planted tanks and replace them with your image! I have some of that in my little terrarium, but mine looks like the pothos in there beat it up and took it's lunch money. 🙂 -
Welcome to the forum, looking forward to seeing your progress!

LOL at your angel fish, he looks like he's thinking "get a room"

My tanks have a definite calming affect and do help a lot with stress. I went decades without tanks but I've always had pets.

Too many is kind of a perspective thing, without tank details, like size, how is it planted are there fish in there? The upside with shrimp is that their bioload is really light. You can have a LOT of shrimp in a tank before if makes a difference. In an established tank they don't need much food. They kind of self regulate if the temps are lower and they just feed on biofilm and algae. Neos will only get their eggs fertilized when they molt.. so warmer temps (high 70s) extra food mean more molting. Like was mentioned above, if you have high quality Bloody Marys, you should have no problems selling or giving them away. Unless of course you live in an area like me, where the mention of Neos or shrimp just devolves into discussions about the Matrix movies or how expensive seafood is...
