  1. I use a tupperware bin for my quarantine that is dried out and stored away when not in use (10 gallons marked on the side for when I need to medicate). I keep it's filter sponges in other tanks to keep the bacteria alive and ready for when I need to use it.
  2. That's great! I love the idea of using the little pieces of white board.
  3. Welcome to the forum! We'd love to see some photos!
  4. I used two rounds of Prazi Pro on my pea puffer and it seemed to work fine, though when I bought him he had a round belly so it was more of a "just in case" treatment. I've used Prazi for years and it's usually the one thing I always use during quarantining.
  5. When I first got him 2+ years ago he was half that size!
  6. I got some short video of my pea puffer, Murderbean, hunting some snails. Thought it was cute so I decided to share.
  7. Nice! Hornwort is my favorite plant. I love how bushy it is, and it grows so fast you just know it's doing work for you.
  8. Corydoras will eat newborn fry. I had a school of trillineatus and pandas in a guppy tank, and only a few would make it to adulthood.
  9. I thought the packaging claims sounded pretty strange as well! I've just been using it in conjunction with crushed coral to help my snails; I'm trying to make perfect snail shells. :3 I don't use HOBs, just sponge filters, and I wanted to control how much is in there until I figured out how much I need, so I put 1/2 cup in some panty hose and made two little bundles of it. One is on top of the sponge (and it looks ugly, but I'll hide it eventually) and the other is hidden behind some rocks. It's been two weeks, and my 29 gallon has gone from 3 KH to 4, GH from 8 to 10, and Ph from 7.6 to 7.8. So far so good. I'll keep monitoring it to see if it continues to rise or see whenever it levels out.
  10. Welcome to the forum! Lovely looking tank, Spongebob looks like he's having a blast in there. :3
  11. Welcome to the forum! What kind of livebearers did you put in the 55? I'd love to see a pic!
  12. Welcome to the forums, Steve! Don't be afraid to ask questions!
  13. She lives in a custom built "tortoise table" during the winter, at night and when she can't be on the floor. During the summer she has an enclosed porch she spends the entire day out in. And when I can, I let her roam around on the floor (we even had a heat lamp installed for her she can park under). And no, she's not potty trained, she just goes where she goes and I just clean up after her. X3
  14. Welcome to the forum! Watching Fishtube is a huge part of my daily routine; I much prefer it to television! The amount of information available to us now a days is so exciting.
  15. Welcome to the forum! Don't be afraid to ask questions and happy Monday to you too! Even if you hadn't forgotten all the aquarium stuff you used to know, it's always a good idea to keep up on new info. I took a 10+ year break from aquariums, and when I came back, a lot of ideas had evolved; like the prevalence of planted tanks!
  16. Welcome to the forum! I agree, you should post pics!
  17. Welcome to the forum! Fun looking tanks!
  18. Welcome to the forum! Love the betta!
  19. Oh man, that is so gorgeous. I really want to do something similar some day with plants growing out from the top. Very inspiring!
  20. It depends on how much food you put in the tank. But just munching on algae and other tank yummies, they will multiply beyond 3 fairly quickly. They come and go in spurts, their numbers growing and shrinking with the food availability. Honestly, I've never found their numbers to ever be a problem, and I see them as a fun little addition to the ecosystem.
