  1. @Robert asked if I had any regular and/or albino bristlenose for the shop. Got this in about 5 mins. Probably have triple this still and I separated the main pair months ago 😆.
  2. I currently buy my slate cut from an online seller. I have checked out my local lowes and home depot for the larger pieces of slate that are then cut down for our aquarist purposes but with no luck. Any good suggestions on where I should look? Maybe local landscape material yards?
  3. @Grizzly, also have you tried with members of your local fish club? We have a pretty cool map of local fish clubs all over the country and soon world. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/apps/store-locator The link says "store locator" but it is for fish clubs.
  4. I take my lid off, set it down, feed, then spend the next 3 minutes looking for the lid! 😩
  5. I really cannot see why your LFS or even a big box pet store would not be willing to give you a couple of pond snails. Give it a shot and make sure you report back. If they say no it will be interesting to hear why!
  6. Thanks all for the suggestions so far! Sad to say at least 1 person suggested has declined me in the past. Albeit graciously. 😪 I will start looking into these folks and seeing if I can make something happen. Keep them coming!
  7. I know cost is relative, but an auto-water change system is not very expensive. If you have close access to water supply lines in the house, and the ever important way to get rid of water, then I think you should go down the rabbit hole and actually cost it out.
  8. Hey All, I know that the Aquarist Podcast hasn't exactly been releasing on a regular schedule like the first year the podcast was out, but I am really going to try and make the effort to get a consistent release schedule going again. Hopefully this awesome community can help me crowd source some guest suggestions. I try to always be on the lookout for guests, especially those that don't already have a large social media presence. So please feel free to drop your suggestions and I will do my best to check them out and see if we could get something scheduled for an interview. Worst case scenario, I can squeeze @Cory and @Dean’s Fishroom for all they are worth as guests! 😜
  9. Loving your photos. That shot with the blacked out aquarium. Good stuff @MickS77!
  10. Getting this product to market was a very long journey with many ups and downs. I couldn't be more thrilled with the reception these brine shrimp eggs have received so far. For my own personal aquarist journey, I knew BBS was a vital component that I was missing in my fish room. I bought premium eggs from the two main players available here in the US, but I was growing increasingly frustrated that I wasn't getting "clean" harvests. I legitimately felt like I was doing something wrong with how I was hatching given how many shells were staying mixed in with my BBS. Every time I hatched I would spend up to 30 minutes or so letting the BBS settle to remove floating eggs. Then, some of the eggs end up settling to the bottom of the strainer/cup/whatever and can't be removed. The first time I hatched out our samples I was blown away by the separation. Seeing virtually NO eggs mixed in with the BBS was like looking upon a a glorious sunset! And now, seeing all of you have the same results and reactions is just fantastic!
  11. It's hard to pass on the FX4 or FX6. If you catch them at Petsmart at the right time they practically give them away for free!
  12. LOL. I really like this one. Really did make me lol. 😂
  13. Getting work done and catching up on yesterday's stream. Anyone else watch the livestreams at work?
  14. We use them interchangeably. 😁
  15. I hope @Cory doesn't find out that the planters came in last month and they are all in my tanks now. Might make the next fish room tour a little akward. 🤫 Seriously, thanks for the support and congrats on the 1 year @Its Hutch!!
  16. @Taylor Blakeso cool! Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more updates
  17. So I am mildly embarrassed to admit that I purchased a WiFi sprinkler/irrigation controller from Home Depot about 2 years ago, I am pretty sure the purchase pre-dates my joining the Coop. Well, tonight was the night that I really kicked my fish room laziness into a new gear. Ironic that to enable myself to become more lazy, I actually had to stop procrastinating and do work. Well, the physical install took about 8 mins to mount the B-Hyve Indoor Sprinkler Timer, disconnect the wires currently connected to the Rain Bird stone age unit, and connect said wires in the new Protoss hottness. Once physically installed, I downloaded the app, which by the way, it appears there is a "Pro" paid version...not sure what that all is about. maybe you have to pay more to get a feature that actually turns off the sprinkler once running! 🤣 Took roughly about 5 mins after the firmware update to name my zones and setup the schedules for their daily runs. Not that it is going to come up all that often, but it is pretty nice to know that I can whip out my phone and fire off an ad hoc water change on any of my racks for any given duration. I have no idea how people like @Dean’s Fishroommanage having to actually be in their fish room and manually turn a valve to trigger a water change??😜. (seriously, ❤️ you Dean!) Any one else in the 41st Millenia with me on this sweet piece of fish room tech?
  18. No, but I am going to start now! Next up, Corgi sticker!
  19. I love new sticker day! I wonder if @Bentley Pascoe will like this one??
  20. Yea, I haven't been hatching out and feeding brine lately. Feeding routine for both tanks is still roughly the same. Definitely pay attention to when I do start making/feeding daily bbs hatches to see if that does anything.
  21. Welcome, @StephenP2003! Hmm, at what point do we not want to keep all the fish! 🤣 Looking forward to seeing your tank photos and a future outdoor pond.
  22. Not sure if it is seasonal or what, but I now have 2 tanks blooming with that yummy green water. Now if only I had daphnia! But i guess that is one of the fish keeping laws. Green water comes and goes as it pleases! 😆 funny that the tanks are two different sizes, two different racks, two different rack levels, and two different types of inhabitants. time to busy out the uv so the discus can actually see what they are doing as these are my only pair that spawn at the moment.
  23. A coworker and I get cool in the new Brine Shrimp cooler.
