  1. Hehe. Cool name. if you get up during the night to use the restroom put the food in then. Have it ready to go before bed. @Theplatymaster sanitize your nets and siphons etc if you are dealing with columnaris. It will spread between tanks if equipment is shared. Based on the patch description, sounds like columnaris to me. Fish will act normal in the initial phases but as time goes on if left untreated columnaris will eat away at the fish. @Colu’s treatment plan works. Do an extra airstone if you can for your patient.
  2. I don’t know.. the photos don’t show legs. @Guppysnail, ever seen these? She seems to have a lot of miscellaneous knowledge about microfauna. Tagging @dasaltemelosguy just because he has a microscope 🤷🏻‍♀️
  3. He doesn’t seem to night roam. Well, it’s only been one night, so I will have to do more research to reach a more definitive conclusion. He’s digging more though. Just digging straight down.
  4. I hung mine from the side of the tank with fishing line. I taped the fishing line to the rim. I was too busy to drill holes for suction cups, and lately suction cups have been getting on my nerves because they only work temporarily.
  5. Ha. Warning! Multi tank syndrome flare up! I had the floating log for him but when it got wet it smelled like chemicals so I quickly took it out and did a water change. Then I bought the pvc. He likes it just as much! As you can see. ☺️
  6. Those foods are fine. They eat more than you think, and overfeeding is not usually a problem, especially with commercial foods. If mine overeat they all climb the glass and go to sleep for awhile. It happens when I put a large piece of Snello in. They are scavengers and can eat a variety of things like fish food, bloodworms, brine shrimp, etc
  7. The gentleman got a water change this morning, and apparently he is enjoying it because I came home to this: This $1.36 piece of pvc pipe is well loved.
  8. I hope they do the right thing. I have yet to mail order anything because I’m scared of a bad experience. But guppysnail sent me the magenta mysteries via “snail mail” one time. Together we made sure everything was as best it could be, logistically. Like would it arrive on a day I’d be home, would the weather here be too hot (because I’m in a tropical climate), has to be one day shipping, etc. It worked out. One dude never came out of his shell and passed in 2 days, but I do know he arrived alive. He was a lot smaller than the other snails so maybe he got knocked around too much in transit. The other 4 were cruising around in no time. We were fortunate, because at the end of the day the animals are at the mercy of the postal system.
  9. Mine are liking boiled lettuce, something I recently learned.
  10. We are trying to hide from all that racket Nice aquascape @TeeJay! And for once @Guppysnail doesn’t have to lose sleep shipping fish!
  11. The pet stores don’t really give good nutrition to the snails also, so their shells may be dull when you first get them. As @Lennie mentioned
  12. Yay!! Congratulations! I saw her yesterday! Still getting around ok and doing shrimp stuff, scavenging around etc @Theplatymaster somewhere in this journal is a MASSIVE list of snail names. But I gotta go do adulting so I don’t have time to find it r n.
  13. Oh wait- I see you said the snail is purple, not brown.
