I just went through the thread again and it seems like all possible issues were addressed, except maybe temp. I see mixed info online about the range for neons though so temp may have been fine. Possible issue: lobster (contaminant?) Resolution: removed. +carbon. Water changes Possible issue: Not enough air Resolution: Resolved itself? You are observing larger bubbles now. Optional: gang valve(?) Possible issue: Acclimation process Resolution: Drip, or more gradual acclimation Possible issue: dechlorinator dosed into tank Resolution: dechlorinator dosed into bucket first As far as parameters not matching the store, not much you can do about it. But chances are water is similar if the store is nearby. I think you should try adding a fish on your day off.

Mine don’t like algae wafers or crab cuisine. They taste it but don’t finish it. They will eat a cichlid pellet or a vibra bite though. I experiment. They really love the bacter ae but I use that sparingly after water changes so water quality stays good and I don’t have 1,000,000 limpets and detritus worms.- 1,895 replies

The berried female has released her shrimplets. I saw the micro shrimplets today 😍but of course they don’t show up on camera. Shrimpkeepers, what commercial foods do you like? I don’t think I will buy Hikari shrimp cuisine again because the pellets are so small, one shrimp will take ownership of a pellet and the next shrimp doesn’t get any. It’s not a good shareable food. Repashy is good. They all love it. It has calcium because it’s how I make the Snello. Not sure the shrimps need the added calcium or not, but there’s never any Repashy left when I feed that. I see several vendors selling Kat’s snail and shrimp food. Maybe I will try that next? Looks bigger and it says it helps with molting. Not that there’s a problem with that. Everyone is well adjusted. But it does target shrimp nutrition needs. I don’t always have time to boil vegetables. Also @Lennie will get mad if I don’t post any snail pics, so- 1,895 replies

King Koopa nerite hibernating?
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to Chick-In-Of-TheSea's topic in General Discussion
Today Kratos went on an adventure, halfway up the wall! Aaaaaaandd then as soon as I started tank maintenance, he went back to the sand. ☹️ Seems he scares very easily. Well, at least he’s doing ok. He’s right by the leaf now, so easy snacks. -

Blackwater Bloody Mary Neo Setup
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to nabokovfan87's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
Hahaha @Lennie good luck! I’ve been trying to convince @nabokovfan87 to get a snail for months! He wants some guarantee that the nerite won’t lay eggs! 🙄 50/50 chance; that’s pretty good odds. I have 3 nerites and none of them have ever laid eggs. (Ok well 50%)- 423 replies

I really like those silicone molds you are using. You can always just partially fill them, so that you have single serving in each. Where do you find small heaters like this? I usually see 25w as the smallest wattage.

Blackwater Bloody Mary Neo Setup
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to nabokovfan87's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
They will love that. Fizz test shows dragon stone as safe, and seiryu* stone as unsafe, although I'm not sure how fast water chemistry would really change. Yours looks like dragon stone. It will be super satisfying to see the shrimps having little "apartments". *surprising, for how popular it is- 423 replies

I keep it up for a week or two after my patient has been moved out. In case the patient regresses (has happened to me before). I ghost feed the tank if it is empty. Then everything in the hospital tank and the tank itself gets sanitized to kill whatever bad stuff was in there. Solution of hot water and 10% bleach*, 15 minute soak - every single thing that has touched that water as well as buckets. Then I rinse 3 times in tap water. Air dry. *Bleach is removed with the rinse afterwards; it also gasses off as the stuff dries. If in the off chance any bleach residue remains, dechlorinator gets rid of it when you fill the tank for next use. This is what I do also, for a quick hospital setup next time. 👍

King Koopa nerite hibernating?
Chick-In-Of-TheSea replied to Chick-In-Of-TheSea's topic in General Discussion
Seems that's what is happening @Lennie and @Guppysnail. He's dug a little more and now he's digging down on a diagonal too. He picked the gunkiest area in the tank, under the PFS. Stuff collects there between weekly maintenance. -
