Bettas can change fin colors through their lifetime, and as long as it isn’t an apparent sickness you should be OK. That betta looks very cool! Can you get any full body pics? 🙏

first hi-fin cory photos, not great

Super nice 👍! Thanks for posting this! -
Try Aquabid or a local aquarium club.

Cabomba doesn’t work as well as hornwort as a floater. It’s a better substrate plant for spawning purposes.

I bought it as a “ready-to-go” set. The filter does diddly squat and the heater doesn’t work! Worse things happen at sea…🤣 -

TheSwissAquarist Journal 2.0
TheSwissAquarist replied to TheSwissAquarist's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
Nice longish post today: I’ve spotted some more Endlers! Hiding around the place, and I guess there’s roughly 20 of them! The tank is starting to get overstocked, but none of the juveniles have reached maturity yet, so I’m in a bit of a pickle on that one🤷♂️. Presenting my eternal shame: my 20 gallon grow out eyesore: It currently has a swordtail female, some splash tetras, and an Apisto agassizii female. It looked great a couple of weeks ago…and then I went on a school camp for 5 days and left my dad a care sheet. Turns out he massively overfed the tank and constantly changed the light. If you want a job done well…😢. @Zenzo was a godsend when he said that I was getting a care package. This could be my second chance at fixing my ex-wonderful tank! We’ll see what’s in the package, and I’ll work on what I’ve got. Master plan: 1)The plants are gonna go through the Reverse Respiration treatment 2)The fish will be removed while the aquarium is drained 3) The substrate shall be changed from sand to gravel which I have bought from the Swiss equivalent of Home Depot. Rinsed of course 😝! 4) 3 sides of the tank shall be spray painted black, because I think the white wall behind is reflecting light back into the tank and therefore causes considerable algae growth. 5) Tank shall be refilled and cycled and have a Stone Age model light timer and auto-feeder, for a better balance. 6) @Cory showed some floating plant in his last vid which looked AMAZING and I really must get some. 7) Light shall be changed from ‘Juwel Novolux ‘ crap 💩 to a spare light I have at hand. All in all, I have something to do between Cmas and the new year!😂😁 Apart from that my future rescue dog 🐶 shall be picked up on the 17th (Xmas present 🎁😜) and my mum used her veto on the great names that you guys suggested. Her name shall be “Pippa”👍 On a final note, my Anubias has taken off in the last week in the 65 gal! Have a nice day!! -
My First Breeder of the Year Award so cool
TheSwissAquarist replied to mountaintoppufferkeeper's topic in Fish Breeding
A slight drop in temperature for 1-2 days is a spawning trigger if that helps, along with a decent water change with slightly colder water. -

Here in Switzerland, if there are 20 types of clown pleco, and a fish comes in marked as “Clown Pleco”, it’s immediately the most expensive type 😂!- 109 replies

In that case why did he bother with them? 🤔... I really love the look of them, but the ones round here are just so darn expensive that I rather go with tetras. Must have seen the salad dressing 😂

Looking good! I can't wait for the day where we see lots of little puffer babes...😉 -
Guppies in a 56??? Lets be a bit more ambitious! Ever heard of four-eyed fish? Or do you mean 5.6 gallons?

Which country are you in? I'm struggling to find some for a fish keeping friend!

Frogbit, java moss, hornwort is a good floater, and shrimp look amazing on a lotus leaf!

Bravo ! An award well earned I'd say ! 🥳 Out of interest, how many do you have? -
I also had a couple, but didn't really appreciate them for what they were. Hats off to you for starting a place for the rainbow nerms!

France 🇫🇷 vs Poland 🇵🇱 today - my friends and I occasionally bet a couple of cents on the knockout matches. Odds for Poland are 30-1 !😂
