  1. I’ve never had a fish with fin rot and from pictures I see it does not look like that. So I’m thinking it’s just a color change, but not sure
  2. All water parameters within normal limits temp 78 5 gallon tank planted had him for about a year noticed change several months ago no change in behavior or appetite
  3. Saw these squirming around my snail tank this morning I’m not sure what they are or if I should be worried?
  4. I woke up this morning and found these all over my snail tank. Anyone have any idea what they are besides squirmy and worrisome
  5. Anybody else have Java moss growing into their sponge filter? No matter how much I squeeze or pick it’s in there
  6. Not sure why my bacopa is losing its lower leaves, it was doing OK for a time. Using easy green and root tabs in the tank alternating weeks. The root tabs are for the Amazon sword fern and Cripts but seem to help out the whole tank as well. It is a highly stocked tank and the when I add more fertilizer I need to do more frequent water changes….which I don’t have the time for right now
  7. Any suggestions on the best kind of heater just to bump it up at night if it should fall below 50?
  8. Looking for some ideas on the best filter for an outdoor 100 gallon goldfish pond. (fancy goldfish) I was considering two large sponge filters if that is a good option I’m wondering how much and/or what kind of air supply to use?
  9. I’m starting up my first outdoor pond. I live in the northern California greater Sacramento area where winters regularly get a soft frost or none at all. Summer days can easily reach in to the hundreds days at a time The stock pond is on the north facing side of my house and will get early morning sunshine in the summers and no direct sunlight in the winter. Electrical outlets are nearby. i’m hoping to put some fancy goldfish in it and am interested in your ideas on what the best filter would be & what kinds of plants would do best. I understand goldfish love to eat plants and that’s fine😊I assume they must be very good for them if they like to eat them:)I really hear that they like duck weed but I am concerned that it would take over? Thanks ahead of time for your thoughts
  10. I had an unlikely pair of Angels fish lay eggs in my community tank. Since that time they were diligent in protecting their eggs and very disruptive to the community tank. I moved them to their own 20 gallon tall tank, and now a week later they continue to be “spaced out “they don’t move around much they are very jumpy and skittish. The tank has stabilized at this point and the water tests great and are now eating ona regular basis but still seem strange? If it was a human i would say they have PTSD… I’m wondering if they would benefit from some dither fish?
  11. I’m starting up a 20 gallon high and will need to purchase so late. I would hate to do it now and a month later the co-op light is out
  12. Yes they’re excellent videos and I have a lot to learn🤓 I’m concerned about the other fish in my community tank in the meantime
  13. So I sit watching the beautiful Koi angelfish valiently protecting their eggs. So far have 1 (of 22) dead ember tetras in my community tank of: 5 forktail rainbow fish, 6 panda corys, a couple of stray endlers that I have been unable to catch and The sweetest ever old male Betta that is scared of the angelfish and hides:( So I was thinking to run out and get a 20 gallon tall tank. Take out the piece of Anubis that the eggs are on and the parents and put them in the 20 tall?would the eggs possibly survive? I suppose either way I need to do it because it’s ruining my community tank😥 I would have never thought I would get a random breeding pair only a month after purchase, who knew
  14. Wow!! Im going to be a mom!! I had never supposed that I had a male and a female and that they would actually be happy enough to start laying eggs I’ll have to read up on raising angelfish😂 Soooo What is one to do with angelfish eggs in a community tank? Move them?
  15. I came home from work and found my Koi angelfish had laid some eggs. I don’t know if they’re fertile or not maybe I have too girl angel fish?
