Crushed coral I believe nis the recommended way to bring ph up.

I think as long as it's a tumbled style gravel and not like crushed lava rock or something really rough the barbels are fine

One side idea I could see working is having the used water pumped into plastic bins full of plants l. Let the plants eat all the nitrates then back into the tanks. Basically hydroponics 😀

I am running a aquatop heater. It was pretty cheap and came with a handy plastic cage around it that seems to keep my snails from crawling directly on it. I think I paid roughly 25 and it is adjustable temp.

I have a small 8idh gallon that has a colony with a nirite. It's gonna be my master colony to populate my other tanks. I ha e about 50 bucks total in it. I bout the tank at a yard sale for 5 and it came with a lid. The light was very poor so I removed it and spent like 8-10 bucks on a led light strip approximately the size of the build housing and retrofit it in. I think bought the aqueon shrimp and plant pellets. Put a few java moss scraps a couple dragon stone and a spider wood and we was off to the races 😂

I wonder if it's the temperament of their tank mates that is a big factor. I have mine with angels and rainbow cichlids so they are a fair bit smaller than them in over all size.

I think you definitely can't go wrong with any of the cryptocoryne or swords. There are a handful of both to try.

I hear a lot of people asking about power failure and cannisters. Is a computer ups/battery back up an option with this guy's? I saw some one not to long ago talking about their plan for when the power goes out for long periods of time. They talked about keeping tanks warm and I wondered then if a good pc battery wouldn't run heaters for a long while since they don't constantly run and their draw has to be much lower than a pc.

I love mine as well. Like a mix of the predator and a pleco on a stringray ish body. I currently only have one as they are pretty hard for me to come by.

Are all armored cats considered scaleless?

Mine will eat well of the food makes it to the bottom. But they won't go out of their way to come up to the top and they more or less watch my angels eat it all. So I load a pipet full of brine or blood worms I thawed out and submerge it half way down and kinda by pass the angels.

So I was told to install it and turn it on the slightest amount possible. Let it run 25 hour and test. If more is needed step it up. And continue that way till ur at a nice level and you aren't in dangerous fish death waters.

What if ACO kept the list in house and we just shipped them a plant through the ACO. Like I just go purchase my plant via the site and the back end sends it to whom ever it was supposed to be for? Aco makes money no one has to share info and we get to have fun 😃

Rams in general aren't very aggressive eaters in my experience. I try to feed them slow sinking pellets,brine,and blood worms. I kinda target feed them a bit.

U could use tapcon screws to fasten them directly to the cinder blocks. They are the blue masonry screws u predril a hole for.

I use a all glass folding lid. They come with the trimable back plate and they are cheap like 25 bucks. It makes a huge difference in evap like I can't even state the difference.

I tend to run a lot of spounges in my tanks cause I like to make sure everyone nis well fed ! 😅
