  1. I feel you would not be able to have schools of angels and rams in a tank that size. It's a beautiful tank though . I especially would think once the angels start spawning it will get to small I n a hurry unfortunately.
  2. I find that with planted tanks the less maintenance you do the better they grow. Obviously the parameters have to stay in range. But in my best tanks I don't gravel vacuum or clean any glass but the front. Sometimes I feel the less human interference the better.
  3. Do virtual fish clubs exist? I have never got around to joining a club myself but I'd really be into a online club. ,😀
  4. That makes a lot of sense. Might be a missing part of their diet too? Maybe the more complete pleco waffers are enough to keep them away?
  5. I think as a general rule it's best to do small water changes to really limit the odds of something like this happening. I would probably limit larger percentage changes to aged water.
  6. Guppies have been heavily in bred for coloration. I have bent backs fairly often in my guppy tanks. I normally separate them into my daughters tank who loves them. I keep it male only in her tank.
  7. Is a chemical over spray possible?
  8. So the only reason you raise the temp of the aquarium is to speed up the lifecycle not the ich. It can only be killed when it's in the water. Which happens between the time the cyst has fallen off to the gravel and the cyst reappearing on the fish times two. The goal is to get it into the water as often as possible to let the meds kill it. Other than that I don't think the temp really matters.
  9. My cherries took about 3 months after in received them from aquahuna to start producing. Have the molted? I read they will only berry after molting.
  10. By green neon are your talking about the glofish? I believe that to be the case and I'm pretty certain aqua human carries them. I have placed a order or two with them with complete success. They also seem to be the only site I've found that has a reasonable sale price and shipping.
  11. Or a hospital/quarantine tank for all those new guppies 😀 I find guppies to be more than average disease/parasite carriers. I strongly recommend quarantining them. A around of ick or callanus worms will make you a believer.
  12. I use two five gallon jugs and treat about a minute before dumping typically about the time I have it all set up wait and it's filling the tank the other is full and I swap out. I'm always afraid of unseen damage to the gills. Maybe I'm a softy but I just can't bring myself to risk it
  13. I currently use 1 fairly large sponge filter in my guppy tank. It's 19 gallon tall with a staggering 30 guppies and 3 young bristle nose plecos. But I do run a lot of plants in florite substrate. I use a pretty heavy plant load to help off set the number of guppies.
  14. I think you could make it work @Jack but I'd take it way slower. I'd start with 1 betta. Then add like 3 rasbora in a few weeks then add more a few weeks after that.
  15. You will definitely have to have floating plants. I used frogbit and had luck. I also here any distraction in the tank from other tank mates will interfere with the courtship dance.
  16. I currently keep angels/rams/mollies/tetras/guppies in a 75 gallon and find the angels only really pick on each other and basically ignore everyone else. My mollies have even had a few fry make it!
  17. Make sure to be careful with feeding and don't be afraid tondo water changes and keep a close eye on the levels and you got this 😃
  18. I was just thinking this over and come to think of it my plecos won't even mess with yellowed or dreads leaves they leave it all to the mystery snails.
  19. I would think a betta would be fine in it as long as you keep a eye on the levels and keep the current down. I have cycled many small tanks with a single betta or a handful of harlequins.
  20. They do very much reassemble that species but I do not see any with the dark belly mine has. It's almost black with a hint of blue in it. I believe that to be the male as the other is much less colored.
  21. I believe humidity to be the key. If you have a tight fitting lid then there isn't a lot of need to move them. I have heard of them drying out if there is a lot of air flow. I also have had some experience with clutches hatching against the glass and inside the clutch but not on the outside which I believe to be a humidity problem.
  22. I have 3 tanks with bristle nose and common plecos with swords and see no sign at all of them touching any of them.
  23. In my experience it's very dependant on the load. If you was to put 1 beta in a 10 gallon you may never see the spike because it's low load. If you put in say a handful of guppies and fed them flakes you would probably have a spike in 4-6 days
