  1. I like java fern as well. Narrow leaf is good.
  2. I have had this happen with my rams. Mine had internal parasites and died before I cured them. I found it is common for these rams to have internal parasites. But they should be clean if they came from the coop. Maybe I would treat them again just to be sure, and try feeding them blood worms. They like those. Oh, and also rams can be shy if only in small group, they are best with 4+.
  3. Oh, I thought that you meant covid for a second and I was like :0. LOL 🙂 That pleco is so cute!!!
  4. Yes thank you @Cory @Emika_B @Colu all fish are better and happy. Thank you for your help!
  5. Thx everyone, my fish has not gotten better yet 😞, and is pooping a lot if that helps.
  6. The meds are brand new by the way. Just got them from the coop in the mail.
  7. Hey everyone, I added paraplense and one of my honey gouramis started swimming erratically and as if he had no control over how he moved, he was also gasping. I added him to a tank without paracleanse, but the other fish are still in there. I have two other honey gourami and one is also showing slight sings of the samething but I did not want to take him out if not necessary. All of the other neon tetras, and hillstream loaches are ok. What should I do? Should I take out the other honey gourami that is sort of swimming like he is negatively buoyant. Why is the meds doing this???
  8. I think the first question to ask someone on the first date should always be "do you want to have aquariums". LOL
  9. Hey everyone! I have recently posted a "ponds for sale" poster in my town, and I have now gotten a few people who are interested. Actually just today someone stopped by my house and say my ponds, and said "your hired". I am really excited, because honestly I would pay money to build ponds so... yeah. 🙂 I am now wondering what is some advice that may be useful, like customer service, common issues, newbies common misinformed ideas. Just anything that may come in common, I know I sounds pretty vague, so what I mean is anything that I should I know. Like Cory gave some advice to fish store employees saying "everybody thinks there tank is huge even if it is only a 20 gallon." You know what I mean if you say that video. Thx!!!
  10. Hey, I am young too! 🙂 It depends on what shrimp u are keeping. I know for sure cherry shrimp are able to be in freezing temperatures. I would recommend cherry shrimp. They are very hardy and cool. Any sort of good shrimp food is good, and I would say u should add a 1/4 tums to the tank because it contains calcium... if your water has none already. Ok, my main recommendation is to find a bigger tank, maybe on offerup or craigslist. If you have never keeped shrimp it would be good to start out 5 gallons but preferably 10 gallons, because even cherry shrimp are very sensitive to changes in the water. For plants I would recommend some easy plants to keep things simple like java fern, java moss, and anubias. With those plants u can just put a simple led desk lamp over them and they will grow.
  11. I mean, people de-rim tanks up to 10 gallons like this to get a rimless look. They usually are fine, I would do it, but maybe just keep water in it with no fish for a bit to see if it holds.
  12. It looks like some type of worm, I would keep it out of the tank for now.
  13. Yes, that documentary is sooooooooooooo good! It has such a deep meaning! I don't cry often, but I got very close when I watched that.
  14. Hey, how are u? So I was wondering what u are treating them with? If u are treating them for internal parasites I would say u are on the right track. Most loaches are wild caught I think, and they come with many parasites, and what it sounds like it is internal parasites.
  15. Hey, So I know that bettas like 74-80*f but my heater broke, and I am ordering a new one. So I was wondering if my betta will be ok at 68-72*f for a week or so. So far he is looking fine, but I was just wondering. Thx!!!!
  16. The hillstream loach is me just being lazy and letting the snails do all the cleaning.
  17. I have a new goldfish pond, however raccoons got in and ate one of my fish, and so I out them in my other pond. My dojo loaches are ok in there though, I plan to put some white clouds in there. It is 100% solar powered!
  18. My dojo loaches look like they are always playing but it is probably them just swimming around. 🙂
  19. This actually happened when my 13 yr old sibling saw my betta swim, she said ¨Oh, he fluttered his feathers¨. 🙂
  20. I watched a simpsons, and Lisa said that the fish were sad because they were in small tanks, and Homer said ¨then why are they wagging their tails?¨
  21. I dont think hillstream loaches can go that cold, but I will look into flagfish.
  22. Hey, So I am looking for a smallish fish that eats algae for my pond. My pond is 50* at the lowest. I was thinking rosy barbs, would that work?
  23. My recipe for a tank is a few sponge filters and a whole lot of plants. 🙂
