  1. I love when I get a little diagram 😍 Truss @nabokovfan87, he’s an engineer
  2. Bottom The bottom is solid but there is a basket inside that has slats. How it appears in photos is how I unboxed it. I haven’t disassembled anything yet. One of the layers is carbon infused which I will omit. Would you suggest utilizing the gravel or no? I’m thinking just use extra ceramics. @nabokovfan87 Coarse > floss > biomedia, yes?
  3. I had a fish that started to get a concave belly like this. He ate great, but his belly kept getting smaller and sunken in. I moved him to a tote and treated him with paracleanse, and he made a full recovery. Remove these daily with a turkey baster.
  4. My most recent bag smelled weird too. Same brand as yours. But I did rinse it a bunch and it was ok; no ill effects. Not sure why. I couldn't say what it smelled like, it just smelled "different".
  5. I would go for totes over buckets. I moved fish in a bucket before and they got aggressive with each other because there was not enough swimming space. Some killed others.
  6. Temporary thread hijack. Reviewers are saying this is loaded backwards. Thoughts on the layers? @nabokovfan87 I think they are correct, as the slots on the lid are the intake. The tube is the outflow. I will be removing the carbon and probably the gravel as well in favor of more floss and ceramics.
  7. Maybe I did watch the French version. I seem to remember subtitles. I liked it.
  8. I don’t know; it’s a good thought. I wasn’t sure how well silicone would hold a suction cup onto an item. There is a bit of weight to decor. There are lots of things on Etsy for bettas, but I felt a lot of it was overpriced and would accomplish the same thing as what I’ve done here. Theirs are lower profile though.
  9. He also invited himself into this video. https://youtube.com/shorts/xgMnZivHK6M?feature=share
  10. I was able to kinda recreate the floating log with my sinking log. Geppetto doesn’t like to go to the bottom much, I noticed, so the log wasn’t getting much use there. I bought suction cups from big box (on sale for 50 cents! Got 2 packs), and they had those C-shaped attachments for heaters. I used the C like a claw to hold the log. I think this log has more ways in and out than the floating one, and it seems he likes to change up his route. Hopefully the suction cup lasts for awhile. You guys know how suction cups are. Also I put coarse sponge in the little opening so he doesn’t get stuck in there.
  11. I worry Geppetto is a little bored since I took away his log, and his leaf with the bubble nest sank. So I gave him this crazy piece of anacharis. He was instantly intrigued and he even created a little game of squeezing between the leaves.
