    Hello all I am looking to set up a 29 gallon saltwater aquarium and have a couple questions 1. What size/brand filter should i use 2. What lighting do I need 3.what fish should I put I. There I was thinking about 2 clown fish for sure and 2 four stripe Damsel fish what other fish should i gay or is that to much and last but not least how long should I cycle it for? is it 4-6 weeks like freshwater usually is

    I just use a garden hose since I’m on a well and my tap water is basically the same as what comes out of my garden hose and it’s also gonna cycle and have water conditioner anyway

    Yeah most of my family is deathly scared of snakes except for my mom so I have all my reptiles in my bedroom lol

    Oh idk then the you should be fine as long as it’s a bigger tank and I would do 4 inches on either side the most I’ve done is 2 on each but with that much overhang I would be Concerned that the front glass might fall out because it has no support but I’ve never tried with that much so I can’t say for certain what might happen but that’s my guess of what might happened

    Yeah there pretty hardy to I went on vacation for about 2 weeks and Apparently the person who I had taking care of my fish thought ammonia was good and all my other fish in my 55 died but the rope fish

    Should be the same as a normal tank 4-8 weeks unless you use established filter media or substrate or you could stick your filter and heater in another tank for a couple weeks before and then it should only take 1-1.5 weeks

    Mine would either be a 100% silent filter or a thing that goes I. Your tanks and of something falls out of balance it sends you a notification another that just occurred to me is a auto feeder Idk if they already do

    How would you go about selling your fish and what are some beginner fish to breed I have asked about breeding discus before but from my research they don’t seem like the best for a beginner to breed(please correct me if I’m wrong)I’ve heard about mollies being a good one for beginners any other recommendations

    Thank you for the advice the noise that is bothering me is a rattling I believe it is completely from the impeller witch I have cleaned multiple times but taping on the lid helped partly

    Yeah I think my biggest problem with the hob it that it’s loud it doesn’t suck at cleaning as much as I think,I think I am just frustrated with it because with the amount that of noise it makes you would think it’s doing like 700gph at least

    Yeah I have a aqueon 75 that is supposed to be just over 400gph but it if loud and doesn’t keep the tank as clean as I’d like even with water changes and my other tank that I used this on was with a couple angels so I want to replace it and was looking at sponge filters but if I would have to have other filters I will probably buy a canister and supplement it with sponge filters because I am using it as a permanent tank for a couple discus and have had good experience with canister filters before

    I don’t have a 75 but I have 3 discus In my 55 and they have plenty of room and seem happy I could probably fit one more comfortablely but my aunt has a 75 with 7 and it seems fine

    Yep I’m a teen I currently have a 30 with a couple chiclids and 2 55s one with a couple discus and rope fish as well as some tetras and the other with angelfish also I’m wondering how other teens fund this hobby, I personally run a business kinda and am thinking about possibly breeding and selling some fish

    I am setting up a 55 and the hang on back filter that I have is just not doing it I want to switch to sponge filters and am wondering if they can be the sole filter in my tank
