  1. I am not here for Achievements or Badges. I am here for the community. Please share your journals and help other members on the forum.
  2. @Manny, can you confirm that as a member, you can see my Recent Badges? I ask for technical reasons.
  3. Achievements and Badges are features of the Invision Community forum software. They can optionally be customized, but we haven’t gone beyond the defaults. If you click on a username, you should be able see Recent Badges.
  4. I really enjoy stability. When I get surprises at work, I can come home to tanks that just need a little food and water. I also enjoy helping with the forum, and taking photographs.
  5. @Tihshho, clean is not important to me. I run organic soil tanks with more plants than fish. Your mess sounds excellent to me.
  6. I only recently activated this setting, but it was for a good reason. The time is short, like eating a sandwich or doing a sink’s-worth of dishes. I may adjust it, but I don’t want to be specific.
  7. @Ken, @Keeg, I grew up with perfect well water, so I could get away with 100% water changes before I knew any better. It is nice knowing that your water is safe.
  8. @Ctrahan, all my journal links are in my signature on every post. Let me know if you you need help with setting up a signature when you are ready.
  9. With the new multi test strips, I have realized that my chlorine is undetectable, so I don’t even bother with off-gassing, and I stopped with conditioners a while back. I wouldn’t have any problems rinsing in tap water. However, my snails, shrimp, and grazers clean my sponges for me, so I haven’t cleaned any of mine yet. I do squeeze out HoB sponges in a bucket so I can optionally save the mulm, and check for hitchhikers.
  10. You can also let maple leaves decompose in a bucket with an air stone to make tannins, or get some Mopani wood. I’m a big fan of tannins.
  11. Will your tank be rimless? The height control of the Nano is pretty cool, and you can route an airline through it. The 15” is nice too, and you can find 3D printed risers on sites like Etsy. Apparently Fluval also has a pendant kit, but I have not tested it. If you look at my indoor journal, you can see all the ways I have tried my lights.
  12. The forum has time-based settings for replying directly to your own posts when you were the last to reply. The guidelines cover bumping posts.
  13. I bet it is a photo run through a brushstroke filter. @JimmyGimbal probably made it.
  14. @Maggie, welcome to New England! See you at Dunkin! 😎
  15. When removing Duckweed, I make an effort to shake, shake, shake; shake my hair pick. This moves the shrimp off, and drops the snails. I still like to check with a clear bucket to be sure.
  16. Not an aquarium meme, but we must have a lot of introverts here.
  17. @Reggie444, you might want to create a tank journal!
  18. I have tried many different skimmers, and I always have the same question for each unit: how does it deal with changing water levels?
